You didn't have to pay for copies of your own novels, did you?I don't want to think about how many times I've paid for THE WRATH OF KHAN: in the theater (multiple times), for the VHS tape, for the DVD, for the deluxe DVD . . . .
And that's not counting the novelization, soundtrack album, action figures, and Hallmark ornament . . . .![]()

I watch little or no TV so paying for any subscription sevice would largely be a waste of money, and in the UK inferior to the US services anyway.
Bluray though? if the series is good enough, definitely.
I was referring specifically to the 50th anniversary story. It was available here on the Space Channel, along with some of the other anniversary stuff. The show will be sold to other markets, we're just excluded from the CBS streaming service and that's not a big deal, we'd be excluded from it airing on a regular network as well, there's no real difference, it has always been like this.To answer the OP: No. I will not pay for this, because for one thing, I can't. It's really rich how they're connecting this to the 50th anniversary, yet excluding everyone not in the U.S. from watching it.
Yes it did and does, the episodes are streamed on the BBC iplayer and everyone not in the UK is excluded from that. Everyone was also excluded when the show aired exclusively on BBC One before it was sold to other markets.(did Doctor Who exclude everyone not in the U.K.? No.)
Why not? They're good reads. Not usually, but you don't think I read my own novels, do you?You didn't have to pay for copies of your own novels, did you?I don't want to think about how many times I've paid for THE WRATH OF KHAN: in the theater (multiple times), for the VHS tape, for the DVD, for the deluxe DVD . . . .

(Seriously, I just wondered, because some authors keep a collection of their books)

Oh, I definitely keep copies of all them. I have an entire, overstuffed bookcase in my office displaying my various publications, and boxes and boxes of books in my attic. And I'm currently haunting my mailbox waiting for my advance copies of CHILD OF TWO WORLDS to show up, so that I can show it off to all and sundry.
But by the time I finish writing a book, rewriting the book, reviewing the copyedited manucript, proofreading the page proofs, dealing with last-minute queries and corrections, I never want to read the darn thing again!![]()
I'm hoping to figure out some easy way to watch on our TV, since I really don't want to watch on a computer. We have a smart TV and a wireless internet throughout the house. But sadly, we are pushing up against the limits of my technical expertise...
At least I've got a year to figure it out.

I'm no author, but I had the same experience with my dissertation. At some point I just had to stop messing with it and let it go. I've never looked at it since!
Anyway, back on topic, yes we will pay for the subscription. It's pretty cheap, and maybe there'll be other things we enjoy.

Absolutely not.
Firstly, and most importantly, I need vastly more information on this series to know if I am even interested.
Secondly, I am in the UK, so it will no doubt be picked up by a channel over here.
Thirdly, paying for a one network subscription service, to me, is laughable. I can not fathom how a business practice like that can actually work in the long run.
Or if you don't want a Roku get Chromecast.
Absolutely not.

It's not a simple question. I will pay at the beginning but stop paying if the quality isn't there. And I will view the series more critically because I will feel like I'm being gouged especially since it will probably also have ads.
