More Parallel Planets?!?!?

I only turn into Dr. Sevrin one month a year. The rest of the time, I'm an evil Ekosian deputy fuhrer. Though I'll probably go through the changes again around December.

I like the receding hairline of Tongo Rad and the smooth dome of Dr. Sevrin. What about a parallel planet full of bald aliens?

There's a whole photo sequence of the hair cutting ritual somewhere, from start to finish.

The parallel Earths peaked in Season 2 and were pretty much forgotten in Season 3. The truly wretched "Portrait In Black and White" script submitted to the show in Season 1—with its race-inverted American Civil War setting—would have been another but, thankfully, it was shitcanned.

Which eventually morphed into "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield". The original post asked what new ideas for parallel planets that forum members could dream up. Use your imagination, folks.

Not to be out of the spirit of parallel planets for seasons 4 and 5, but what really qualifies as a parallel planet?

In Miri, the first one, they really made a bit of a deal out of it but in later occurrences it wasn't really mentioned.

Would Arena count, because there's a Vazquez Rocks in Earth, too. How about Friday's Child?

Well, back to the next season, I would have like a late feudal setting, maybe a Russian Empire type setting, it would give Chekov a good episode to be Chekov in. Navigator on the Roof.

They could have done stories of parallel planet development where there was a battle for gender equality. A matriarchal society where men are oppressed, not allowed to vote, receive less pay for work, men's health care needs aren't being met, and women's attitudes toward them are disrespectful and demeaning. But no one in the 1960s would have believed it or understood the message.

They could have done something substantial along the line of the Salem witch trials, which were only hinted at in "All Our Yesterdays".

They could have been spotted beaming onto a low tech planet and been mistaken for gods, etc.

I would like to see an episode where there is a two gendered species however on gender really is less capable than the other. our heros try and bring gender equality to that planet. But because they don't understand the culture it blows up in their faces. It would be best not to have the genders directly analogous to male and female. However, this probably wouldn't work for a Kirk era episode. But I do like episode ideas where what we consider to be normal, moral, or right is found to be earth-centric rather than universal.

I shudder as I think about TNG's "Angel One".

"The Magicks of Megus-Tu" covered the subject to some degree.
