Star Trek Online Discussion Thread - Delta Rising

Hi all.

I'm new to the forums. I've been playing STO off and on since beta, the fleet I'm in is pretty much dead and I've not properly played it for ages. Just wondering how the game is going now? If you are all in a fleet together or what? Is it still worth playing? Every time I finished the episodes I got very bored as I couldn't find anything else to do.

There should be lots to do on DS9 but there isn't (at least not the last time I checked).

It's Lilly@minty

Thanks.

I'm not online on it much at the moment, finding it kinda hard to get back into it, but will be helpful to be part of an active fleet.

Guys, remember to collect your free hoverboard

How do you claim this from the C store?

Open the in-game C-Store interface (lower-left corner button in the mini-map). The hoverboard can be found under "Promotions".

Sadly, the hoverboard is only usable on the Risa Summer Resort and no where else. The upside is everyone gets a free Elite grade board for the next summer event. Oh, and if you talk to the Temporal Agent outside Admiral Quinn's office and ask him about "I heard about some kind of unexpected temporal anomaly?", he'll tell the story of how the Ferengi got their hands on the hoverboard.

Cool but considering federation technology a hoverboard would have seemed a no brainer..

Just landed on Vulcan to do the ambassador mission then to P'Jem...

Had to log out and the moment I logged out the game wants to patch and it patched barely 30 minutes prior to this. What's the deal here, anyone know?

Don't worry, its just pre-patching ready for the new season release next Tuesday. :techman:

4 gigs is pretty big for a pre patch lol.

Also every time I log in the same person keeps sending me friend requests then deleting me from their friend list over and over. Is there an ignore function?

Right-click on their name in the chat window then select Report Spam. ;)

4 gig isn't that big considering they're probably releasing a lot of voice-over, four revamped episodes, two new episodes, the Admiralty stuff, dry docks, etc (with all the UI, textures, animations and so on involved). There's usually one or two small surprises they don't tell us about until the day of release, too.

4 gigs is the uncompressed size of all the files that will be modified. The actual downloaded data is around ten times smaller. Also, most of the patch involve modifying current files so the patch does not take 4 gigs of your disk space.

There is an ignore list in the social window. Press O to open the social window (assuming you haven't changed the keybinds)

There is a tab along the top of the social window 'Ignored' select this and it will display a list of all ignored players. There is a button to the bottom right where you can enter the @playerhandle you wish to ignore.

Also you can right click any player name in the chat window and select ignore from the list.

I might do that. But I was worried it's one of the group fleet so did not wish to find the ignore button.

Just annoying every few minutes get a friend request I accept then they delete me and do it all over again..

A fleet member would never behave like that. It's likey a bot account doing... something.
Just ignore or report them.

OK now that makes me nervous haha... Why would you put a bot to add people and then delete them?

Some kind of harvesting?

Because it draws your attention to something they've sent to your chat window; usually people ignore it while they're actively playing (in combat for example) and miss a /tell message, which then scrolls off the screen with all the system notices etc. The popup draws your attention, then you see they've done a /tell, which is usually spam.
