I don't have a source but I saw it was $300 million per film.

ETA: If it is $1 Billion for both then I personally would boycott them. Way too much. Ugh.

Sure it's a lot of money, but I'm not about to boycott, even if they did spend that much. There are better things that could be done with that kind of money, but it's their money to spend so if want to spend it there I'm not going to punish them for it.

Unless of course it includes the advertising , which often gets left out despite sometimes costing almost as much as the rest of the production combined. Still, one billion apiece seems more than a little excessive, even for such a large and expensive cast. A billion for both of them on the other hang, I could believe.

A lot of that advertising is BS too though. It'll be ABC charging Marvel 200 million in advertising so that they can claim the movie didn't make any money at all. According to Hollywood no movies ever turn a profit. :guffaw:

I don't believe the billion dolar rumour. Disney isn't that dumb. I could see 300 million a pop, which would still be darn expensive. There is no reason to spend 500 million. Heck even 400. 400 million buys a lot of spectacle.

I really, really don't understand how Half Blood Prince manages to be the 7th most expensive film of all time. There's hardly any action in it!
Hey, CG-painting bleak gray clouds onto every last single pixel of filmed blue sky ain't cheap... :rommie:

$ 1 billion dollars?!
Nothing exceeds like excess, indeed.

I guess they need the money to pay RDJ's salary and to render that CGI army the Avengers are going to fight for the finale.

Zing

They could use reasonable money to film the story of the Finite War; but to capture the Infinity War, they need unlimited capital!

I'm watching the Ultron bonus features and it got me thinking. We're down to the Soul Stone and the Time Stone now. Obviously, Doctor Strange will get the Soul Stone. Which movie will do the Time Stone? Thor 3? Guardians 2? Or will it be saved for Avengers 3?

I could see saving it for Avengers 3. If only because there's likely a lot of death that has to be reset so making the Time Stone a plot point would make it easier to use it to reset history. Not saying that's the path they'd go down, only I could see it happen.

Before Cap3 was revealed to be Civil War, I saw a story potential with Cap flashing back to WWII via the time stone, maybe making the villains Zemo the father and Zemo the son.

Of course, they can always put it in Thor 3 or Guardians 2.

Wouldn't it make more sense to introduce the Soul Stone in 'Guardians 2'? I thought Warlock was supposed to pop up in the sequel, and since the Soul Stone and Warlock are attached at the hip...

I don't think anything has been confirmed in regards to Adam Warlock. On the contrary, everything regarding him has been denied, up to the point of suggesting he might not appear at all.

Of course, that's just rumor and speculation.

Part of the issue is the way they created Vision to have an Infinity Stone. Makes it hard for Adam Warlock to have one as well.

I don't buy that $1Billion for both Infinity War films at all. Not.One.Bit.

Reads like click bait editorializing out of thin air.

Yeah, that was the repetitive thing from the first two Avengers that really bothered me.

Reports are saying that Ruffalo/Hulk will appear in Thor Ragnarok.

I'm excited for Ruffalo's return, but curious how they'll use Hulk with the characters from the 9 Realms.

The more of Mark Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk we get the better, I say.

As long as we don't get the same Hulk is used as a weapon against our heroes again.

Yeah, that was the repetitive thing from the first two Avengers that really bothered me.
A few years ago, there was an animated movie when Loki and Enchantress bring the Hulk to Asgard, and the Hulk proceeds to cause much chaos for the Asgardians.

Edit to add
Found an ugly cut of the full movie here.

Fast forward to 19:30 and watch till 22:05, for the Thor and Loki confrontation. It's also where Thor calls the Hulk's coming to Asgard as a "new Ragnarok".
