Yeah I'm shocked "Aftermath" doesn't star the Big Three. Makes it feel less important to me. Still excited though! I actually met Chuck Wendig at a writer's conference before this was announced, he's a cool guy.

I've noticed lately that in these kind of situations the comics used to be the secondary story while the big stuff happened in the novels, now it seems to have flipped with the novels secondary to the comics.

I was rather shocked that Aftermath seems to focus on Wedge. I was expecting that to focus on the big three, but I'm guessing that's what Shattered Empire will do.

My understanding of Shattered Empire is that it's focused mainly on the Imperials.

Is Marvel planning on release any more of the Dark Horse comics? There's quite a few of them I was hoping to read. I'm kind of surprised they at least haven't released The Clone Wars (Filoni series) comics.

I just finished Dark Disciple and was pleasantly surprised. I'd say it's my favorite of the new canon novels so far. It was great to have a Clone Wars episode novelized like this.

I think I read that it was 8 episodes. I believe the source material was originally going to be two four episode arcs.

yes, it's from eight episodes. they list all the titles in the book.

That was because Lucas thought people might get confused between Anakin Skywalker and Anakin Solo.

We know now that was not true. It's complete bullshit made up by the editors of the NJO series to cover their own asses.

But it was somewhat believable, especially in light of the fact that Lucas is the guy who changed Korriban to Moraband because he thought Korriban sounded too much like Coruscant. That's right: people would get the galactic capital city-planet confused with the barren scary tombworld originally ripped off from Battlestar Galactica. That's apparently what he thinks of the cognitive faculties of his audience.

There's at least three more coming...Empire Vol 2 (Oct), Infinities (including The Star Wars) (Dec), and New Republic Vol 2 (March 2016). I assume more will follow after those.

Did anyone read Lost Tribe of the Sith by Jonathan Jackson Miller, and was it any good? It's only $5 as a Nook e-book right now. It's a tie-in to Fate of the Jedi and I did really like that series, but I generally don't like SW stories starring non-movie characters...

Haven't read it, but JJM is one of the better writers for both the novels and comics. I feels he usually delivers something interesting.

Did anyone read Lost Tribe of the Sith by Jonathan Jackson Miller, and was it any good?

The various parts of it were free to download for a while ( legally ). I never got around to reading it. I think not paying for it hurt my incentive, or something.

I forgot to post, but I read Lost Stars a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. The first third was very generic young adult stuff, but once they start living out the events of the OT it became much more interesting. I recommend it.

I'm still waiting for my library to get Aftermath :sob:

On my vacation I resumed my re-read of Legacy of the Force. I finished Sacrifice the other night, and that ending still made me teary. I really like this series, and I recall the next two books being the high point so I'm excited about that. I think the way they developed Jacen's fall to the dark side was done was really well, it was so subtle and logical, very unlike Anakin's fall in the movies.

Also, the series reads so much better if you just skip Traviss' Boba Fett chapters

When I reread it, I would have prefered to skip anything that isn't Traviss's Boba Fett chapters. The mandalorian stuff is the only parts of the LotF series I have any desire to read again, although I have gone through the main story twice and probably will do so again, just because I'm a gigantic EU nerd.

The funny thing about it is that the Fett chapters are basically in their own little world that has almost nothing to do with the actual story, aside from Fett and Han teaming up at the end of 2 and the Jaina stuff in 8.

To each their own. To be clear, Traviss's Republic Commando books are basically my favorite books (of any series/genre) of all time, so it makes sense that her Boba Fett chapters are my favorite parts of LOTF. I know some people don't like her mandalorian stuff, and that's fine, but I love it, and its really all that makes LOTF memorable to me.
