Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Yeah, chicken and waffles has been on a definite upswing in popularity/visibility over the past ten years. Especially in the southern U.S. and strangely enough, New York city.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

I actually had it for the first time last year. It's not bad.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Chicken and waffles is fairly common here. I've had it several times, both at Roscoe's and even home made a few times. It's rather quite a delicious treat.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Went to the liquor store last night (the LCBO here in Ontario), and they had a display of an assortment of pumpkin beers. Though that's been common for a few years now, but seems to have grown with more assortments each year.

Honestly, whenever I think of pumpkin products, my first thoughts go to Pumpkin muffins and Pumpkin pie. My Mom would make pumpkin muffins when I was younger.

Beer has definitely jumped on the pumpkin bandwagon, though many of them aren't very good.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

^ It's wrong when pumpkin spice is introduced into products where there is no logical REASON to do so. It's a FOOD additive, not Soylent Green.

One of the first products to do so too! But yes, I agree. They all vary greatly in quality.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Perhaps someone should explain to Len Gigante that pumpkins are actually a food!

Yeah, my favourite bit is this:
"We don't eat Christmas trees. We shouldn't eat pumpkins," he told CBS News correspondent Michelle Miller.
Obviously, we don't eat Christmas trees. They aren't food, while pumpkins are. :D
This just in, from our food correspondent, Euell Gibbons:

Found pumpkin spice coffee at the Bulk Barn today. And yes, it is delicious! :D

Thanks to all those who replied about the chicken and waffles. I'm not sure that sounds like my cup of tea, but I'm also not going to knock it before I try it!

And hey, you could make a certain seasonal variation on the dish by combining your chicken with these:

Well, I was more or less paraphrasing the article. But that, I didn't know. I can't say I've ever eaten any part of one.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

I was glad to find out the following items I found via Google Images, were fake, especially consider how disgusting they sound:

Pumpkin spice Tampax
Pumpkim spice Dorotos
Pumpkin spice condoms
Pumpkin spice toothpaste
Unfotunately, the pumpkin spice M&M's are real.

And today I found pumpkin spice cinnomon buns. I'm still lamenting the fact that I can't find good tasting cinnom rolls and buns anymore (it seems so many people are switching to Cinnabuns brand, which to me doesn't taste worth a crap) and now they're putting pumpkin spice in 'em.

I'd be afraid to try... those needles would really hurt the tongue!

My biggest disappointment with cinnamon buns these days is that no one seems to put raisins in them anymore. I love cinnamon buns with raisins. When did that stop?

(Well, that and the fact that Costco seems to have stopped carrying those cinnamon buns they used to have, with the most thick, decadent, delicious cream cheese frosting you've ever tasted! Those kind of spoiled me for other cinnamon buns...)

I have seen recipes online for pumpkin spice cinnamon buns, though, and they are on my list of things to try.

I find it somewhat incredible that we're over 300 posts on a thread dedicated to pumpkin spice. I really hope you're going to start a similar thread for all the gingerbread-flavoured products that will hopefully start appearing any day now! :D

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Oh, no, no, no -- gingerbread is okay, in moderation.

It's just that pumpkin spice, coconut, and lime need to be stopped. Have you tried lime chips? Fucking awful. Lime is nothing without lemon.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Man, I hate broccoli, but I don't waste my time making multiple posts and threads about it. Get a life and stop being the poster child for "first world problems".

You and me both. lol

Don't know where you're located, but they have them where I am. I'd check back. Products that they sell tend to disappear sometimes but then resurface a while later.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

I have now eaten my pumpkin spice oreo cookies and I can say I deeply, DEEPLY regret not having bought 25 packets of them.

They are amaaaaazing. The picture on the front looks like vague orange stuff but they are DEEP vegetal pumpkin colour with an intense pumpkin pie, but still ACTUAL SQUASH!!! flavour. My only complaint would be they could dial down the sugar but of course they are Oreos not some hipster organic thing.

I believe they are a quiet work of art.
