Seasonal Flavored Products I Don't Like Must be Stopped

Every year it seems there's more and more of them, from candy to cented candles to even marshmallows. And it wears out its welcome very quickly.

Some lady put a pumpkin spice scented candle in her office at a business -- stunk up the whole place. It was plesant to smell... once.

Bag after bag of pumpkin spice flavored candies just sit there. There's probably one guy, some creepy guy who smells like pumpkin spice, who buys 'em.

Just a couple weeks ago or so, Wal-Mart finally got rid of pumpkim spice (and regualr pumpkin) flavored products which had been sitting on the shelf since last bloody Halloween. Yes, just in time to get ready to stock fresh pumpkin spice products that will sit there for another year.

As another user posted in another thread (Karzak):

Clearly it must be stopped. It's like the "genius" who thought a few years ago of putting coconut in everything -- more "genius" at work.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

I love pumpkin. Graeter's pumpkin ice cream topped with whipped cream is possibly the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. I imagine most "pumpkin spice" flavorings are but a pale imitation of Graeter's pumpkin ice cream (made with real pumpkin and pumpkin-pie spices), but still, even an imitation would be pretty good.

I've only recently started drinking coffee, to help me stay alert on long drives and writing sessions. The first cup of coffee I ever had, obtained from a rest-stop vending machine on I-75, was a pumpkin spice cappuccino, and it was more to my liking than any coffee I've had since.

So I don't see any reason to object to pumpkin spice. I'm no fan of things that are overhyped, as a rule, but this is pumpkin. How can that be wrong?

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

^ It's wrong when pumpkin spice is introduced into products where there is no logical REASON to do so. It's a FOOD additive, not Soylent Green.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Why does food need to be logical? Is it logical to put peanut butter inside chocolate?

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

If it tastes good, it's obviously l logical.

Peanut butter in chocolate vs. pumpkin spice in anything is the different between a hot girl in a tight red dress and high heels vs. a hot girl in one of those ugly long shirts that fall down and are a little ruffled, with Crocs.

^now there's a lovely image. Please tell me that's a typo.

And how exactly do your cross your own mind? You only consider your own existence in passing? You only very briefly considered thinking about yourself?

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Crocs are sinfully ugly, what can I say. And those ugly dresses that have no appeal and make girls look fatter are ugly, too (I just can't recall the name of them).

^That's what I've been trying to tell him.

Forget the pumpkin spice; tharp's writing is what's really freaking me out. :guffaw:

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Man, I see them shopping in those things and sometimes in commercials. It's like a weird mutation of the ruffle shirt from "Seinfeld" with more ugly added just incase it wasn't enough. Make it pumpkin spice scented and it just may be pure evil.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Thanks, though. That was the best laugh I've had all day. Although, the mental image it gave me.....ew.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

Well, here's one for you:

A long time ago my sister stayed with her grandmother. She helped her make the bed and grandma told her, "I put fresh sheets all over the bed."

Only when she said "sheets", it came out a totally different way.....

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

As with all popular things, there will be people that try to cash in. Pumpkin Spiced flavor isn't bad in and of itself, but it certainly shouldn't be added to everything.

That said, are Pumpkin Spiced Oreos a thing? Because they should probably make that a thing.

Re: Pumpkin Spice Products Must be Stopped

You left out the option I would've chosen: Don't give a damn how much of it there is around, since no one can force me to eat/drink it.
