^And to be honest by the end of TCI she was grating less. When she turned down the Doctor's offer to travel with him at the end I was genuinely disappointed, which surprised me greatly.

My favourite Donna moment remains from the Sontaran 2 parter when Ten survived blowing up the ship. Martha got all doe eyed and "Oh doctor are you all right." Donna just punched him :lol: I loved her already by that point but that really cemented it.

Season 4 remains the best and most consistent season of new Doctor Who, with only one episode I didn't like ("The Doctor's Daughter"). I would love to return to that era.

Hopefully this news is true and Bernard Cribbins will also return as Wilf.

So many times this. Just give me a companion who just wants to have fun exploring time and space with The Doctor. Nothing more, nothing less. That and actually traveling with The Doctor. No more of this picking up and dropping off the companion(s) at their home and time period. Oh, how I long for the days when The Doctor had no control over the TARDIS (deliberately or not).

Well he's going to be in RTD's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' so he hasn't retired yet. (Even though at 86 no one could blame him if he had.)

Throw another vote in for Wilf to return.

Donna interacting with 4 would be great. Donna and Tegan would be a battle of the mouths and 6 and Donna would be quite a confrontation too.

yeah I'm another who really likes Donna. Of all the companions in NuWho, she was the one who could put the Doctor in his place; her somewhat abrasive personality is what makes her work for me. All the other companions capitulate. Donna stands her ground and would challenge, even supersede the Doctor's ego.

The only companion who grates on me is Peri. I can even tolerate Mel and Adric over Miss Whiney-britches

And yes, bring back Wilf.

I might dislike Tate, but I'd be pretty happy to have Cribbins back.

Could do a nice comedic crosover with his Tom Campbell character from Daleks – Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D...

I loved Tennant and Tate. Season 4 was the strongest season of nuWho in my opinion. Tate was a perfect companion and I too was disappointed at the end of The Runaway Bride when she turned the Doctor down. Thank God she changed her mind.

Tate's an abrasive, unfunny, unwatchable disaster, in Who or anything else. She's a guaranteed switch off. I can't stand her.

I'd even prefer Mickey or Danny Pink as a companion...

I felt this way, when Runaway Bride first aired and was grateful she didn't stick around, and I feared when she was announced to relieve Martha. However, I loved her run in Season 4 and she no longer bothers me in Runaway Bride

Donna was fun as a companion. She was still mouthy, but held no interest in the Doctor other that the places he could take her.

I loved Runaway Bride. Not having seen Catherine Tate before, she was a breath of fresh air after the clinging schmaltz of Rose.

So BF just delayed some long scheduled releases from early to late next year. Opening up some space for something else, perhaps...
