Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors, etc

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

I can't see Hulk or Banner on Iron Man's side. Hulk wants to be left alone, and Banner hates authority and being controlled/captured by it. If Banner is in the movie, both himself and his alter ego seem like natural allies of Cap to me.

Plus, Ross is on Stark's team.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

In the MCU, breaking up the Stark/Banner bromance would be as big a deal as turning Cap and IM into enemies in the MU....

Images and .gifs have leaked regarding the D23 footage.

Which is a big reason to do it.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

That movie is so jammed packed with characters as it is, I don't how they would have had time to do a major Hulk story in there anyway.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

I'm still having a hard time figuring out how this all will play out on the 2 hours it has with resolving the Bucky storyline, having the catastrophic event that splits them all up (unless they use the events from Avengers 2 as the catalyst), having them duke it out and then get to the end.

I'll be seriously impressed if they handle it as well as they did with Cap 2.

Do we know the running time already? Couldn't the movie be closer to 3 hours for all we know?

To be fair though, when are the leaving it for, Infinity Wars? Which will even more characters than Civil War anway even more storylines to explain and play out! :)

I know it'll be spread out over two movies, but still.

Doubt it but could be. I'd guess more like 140-150 minutes tops, a 3 hour movie is a very hard sell and rare these days. I'd not complain about a 3 hour movie if it gives them enough time to develop the story well and 3 hours fly by if it's a good movie.

Chris Evans wants to come back for more Cap after his contract ends. Yeeeeeaahh boyeeee!

That's fantastic. I've heard for so long he'd be the first one out, and that he wasn't really happy as Cap. If there is any actor, and character I want to stick around in the MCU it's Chris Evan's Captain America.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

Really glad to hear it. Evans and his Cap are one of my favorite parts of the MCU, so it's nice to know he's willing to stick around.
I'm kind of surprised though, a while back I had heard he wanting to focus more on his directorial career, so I figured would stop playing Cap once his contract was up. I wonder if the Marvel movies will be the only acting gigs he continues with?

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

With Ike Perlmutter out of the picture, Evans can renegotiate for the deal he deserves rather than what Ike was willing to spend.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

He might be doing this as back-up since his directing debut got bad reviews.

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

How many career directors started out the same way? With the same kinds of reviews for their first gig?

Re: Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors,

Especially when you're already a household name. People are gonna pick your first directing gig with a fine tooth comb. And get very critical, since it's always fun to bash someone popular.

I dunno, I haven't seen the film yet, for all I know it really is a horrible directing job though.

^ On the other hand, they might want to cut him a break because they know who he is and know it's his first try.

I've been looking at some reviews just to see if they're usually blaming the script or the director. Quite a few critics seem to blame things like the dialogue, which isn't the director's fault. Others feel the story lacks pace and zip, which would be on Evans.

I'll have to give it a shot myself I guess, see what the issue is.
