I would certainly enjoy a two and a half hour Trek film.
Scotty's role might be reduced screentime wise, but, if he has compelling situations and dialogue, I'm sure he'll more than carry his weight dramatically.

At the time of ST09, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and others were not "top billed talent", either. The only actors who had big budget movies were Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Simon Pegg. Now they are all "bankable talent".

No, it's there. It's just a lot smaller than the ones from the first two flicks. Looks a little more TOS-ish in that area. Something weird going on with his shoulders though. Hard to tell with how quickly he's dancing around.
