Are Nathan Fillion or Chris Pratt too old now for this role?![]()
I'd much rather see a Ben Kenobi film set in between ROTS and ANH with Ewan reprising his role.
Agreed. I'd love to see a "Kenobi Unforgiven" movie not unlike the novel.Well, the novel Kenobi is about an adventure Obi-Wan gets mixed up in shortly after he arrives on Tattooine. It's actually quite good.
I agree that Ben shouldn't be off on some mission unrelated to protecting Luke. The drama could come from his having to go out on a mission to prevent Luke from being discovered. It's a needle to thread, and whether it works would depend on the specifics. I think that Ewan's performance was generally well-received and that he was one of the highlights of the PT, which is why there's interest in a Kenobi film.
Obi-wan trusts in the Force. He will go where the Force takes him. If that is away from Luke for a time...well? That is the way of the Force.
"Watching over the boy" does seem to devolve over the years into just waiting for Luke to come visit. If Luke had stayed home on the day the Stormtroopers came calling, he'd be dead alongside his folks and Obi-Wan probably wouldn't have know about it for weeks.
He must get bored too. I bet most of the time he was 'communing with Qui-Gonn' he was really just blathering to himself. That wizard's just a crazy old man.![]()
