So which ST character do you think had the best voice?

Picard. Patrick Stewart is brilliant.

I have a Diamond Select Enterprise E that plays First Contact sound clips. Yesterday I pressed the button as I was walking past.

I got this...

Picard: "Fire quantum torpedoes."

No one, and I mean no one, can say "torpedo" like Patrick Stewart.

There is something very potent about Marc Alaimo's voice as any of his characters. I'd put him up there too

I watch Star Trek episodes in the original English only on rare occations. I'm used to the German voice-actors. As I mentioned elsewhere, they often don't match the original actor's voices. Quite impressive for me are Sisko and Worf....

I bought my dvds when I was working over there, so they default to German if I forget to change the language. Maybe I'm just used to what I grew up with but I can't get past the lack of gravitas in the German Picard's voice.

Well, that and my German is nowhere near as good as it used to be as I haven't used it for about 10 years.

Worf just for the part in this where he yells "You!"

In Picard's case you're right. But I like Jeffrey Comb's German voice as Weyoun. He has the same as Shran and a different voice as Brunt. All of them fit to the characters. Udo Schenk does the dubbing for Jeffrey Combs and Gary Oldman, that's why Gary Oldman sometimes sounds like Weyoun (in the case of Air Force One with a Russian accent....).

I'm shooting with Ben Sisko. Half of his gravitas was in that voice!

Okay, you've sold me, Chen; Sisko is now on my top ten list of Trek vocal favorites, particularly because of how he pronounces "Cardassian" and "pursuit."

Oh, and I seem to remember he can sing. :)
