Dunno, haven't listened to many of the dubsKilana doesn't like the idea, but you do and I do, so they should have had udo as odo![]()
? What was wrong with Odo's voice, may one ask?
Just figured a guy named Udo would be a nice fit for voicing a guy named Odo...
Never noticed that about Nichelle Nichols, but Nimoy did say he started off giving Spock a slightly British edge to his voice, which you can definitely hear in the two pilots. Beyond that, well, he was a Bostonian...Also, am I the only one who's noticed how certain of Spock's and Uhura's words sound British, but not all of them?
Indeed! In I Am Spock, Nimoy says he was asked to create an accent like Somerset Maugham's. He wasn't comfortable with the full-on version of it, but the British A's stuck with him all through TOS (and I'd presume elsewhere as well, but I didn't make it through any of the movies to confirm that). Some time ago, I had the occasion to watch the first of Nimoy's "In Search Of" documentaries, and his voice was Spock's all over again, complete with the A's. Interesting. Or should I say fascinating?
