I used AVG and then Avast... still got more than one virus they could not get rid of. Installed trial of Norton Security and it removed them on the first scan. I paid the annual fee... happily!
I have Avast on my phone, as well. It picked up a virus, but could not remove it... until it updated. Once that happened, the virus was gone.![]()
Its a sad day indeed when someone would rather pay for Norton then use the free AVG. Just goes to show how crappy Free AVG really is. Now the pay one on the other hand.
Between using things like Combofix and Malwarebytes, and any free AV program, your computer will be just fine.
Pretty much. I use Avira, MalwareBytes, and, in a jam, Combofix, which takes care of 99.999% of all my problems.
I did use Avast, and it was quite good, but it wanted to control everything, and dealing with all of that was too much of a headache, so I found Avira, which is highly rated in various tests, and use that. It's just a simple anti-virus, which is all I need. Of course, I remember when Avira was Anti-Vir, the site was mostly German language, and it was awesome even then. I think they've only improved in terms of detection over the years.
