PICTURE POST II!

timeline_zpsjz0xdfd0.jpg
Squiggy, I would have never pictured you in a uniform!

It took a little longer then expected and its not even 100% done but I finished Aaron's room enough for him to sleep in it tonight. So here is his Disney Cars/Planes inspired room. He was very adamant about having Dinoco Blue on the walls with a strip of Dust Crophopper Orange. Sherman Williams did their best to try and match the colors off the Car and Plane.

I'll post a few more pics when were all done, done.

^Very cute! Your sons are lucky to have a dad who is willing to make the effort, even on the little things.

I'm surprised everyone has so many pictures of themselves; I go out of my way to NOT to have pictures of myself.

I really appreciate you saying this, I try real hard to be the best dad I can be for my kids. I had a terrible father, I'm trying to right every wrong he did and see how much headway I can make with environment over genetics.

Well I went to the hospital where my wife works and helped her move into her new office. Her old office was actually the room they shredded documents in. So it had no windows and was little more than a closet. While her new office is much larger and has nice big windows, the view isn't that great. She said, "at least I have windows now."

Here is her view

^Hey, a window is a window.

I really appreciate you saying this, I try real hard to be the best dad I can be for my kids. I had a terrible father, I'm trying to right every wrong he did and see how much headway I can make with environment over genetics.

I had/have a father who thought simply being in the same house was enough. While he was a great provider, he was a terrible father. He thought that dealing with children was beneath him--that was women's work--and his only role was to punish or hand out cash. He did both very well. He was a well-known attorney: very powerful, very accomplished and also very much an alcoholic who took great joy in verbally destroying people, especially his own family. While I certainly had it far better than some (my Mom is all kinds of awesome), I'm still rather amazed at how great some dads, like you, can be.

Believe me, just the fact that you CARE about what kind of father you are proves you're doing it right.

Now that's what I call impressive detail in a doll display! Well done there, KM! It's pretty cool. :)

If I had the space, I'd do more rooms. I still have my dollhouse from childhood packed away, if I could find somewhere to display it, I'd make rooms for other mini American Girls.

^ Those kinds of things are always very cool and a lot of fun. But space is always an issue. Years back I had a whole bunch of Department 56 Halloween Village pieces that I set up on top of the entertainment center (complete with miniature blacklights for ambiance). But that was when I lived upstate and the apartment had the room for such a display. Now I have just the Haunted Mansion and Shipwreck on a bookcase in the bedroom. Still have the rest of the village in storage though ...
