Character creation in Blender

Hey people,

I've been stuffing around with a few characters who might show up in a post-The Fall Trek short/potential series I've been writing for a while now.

90% of my modelling experience comes from design for 3D printing so all of this shading and sculpting stuff is a bit new to me. I started working with blender about 2 years ago and am annoyingly comfortable in it compared to Maya and 3dsMax.

My first proper character: An Andorian Shen starfleet cadet, late teens.
Learning about sculpting in facial details.. safe to say its a process. Getting skin texture and things like pores right is still very much a work in progress.
Progression from my most recent back to the earliest attempts. Most images have zoom capability.

Comments and more specifically constructive criticisms are most welcome!

I think it looks great so far... I really struggle with anything even close to organic. :)

Thanks! Yeah, people are hard. Pushing it step by step towards the uncanny valley is pretty much my goal.
I think I might start again on her in zbrush, this mesh is just terrible... No chance of saving it.

Given the clues, I'm going to have to suggest different chairs. None of those is really conducive to the Riker Maneuver.

Ok so the office was left behind in another mad dash of commissioned trek props.
Since completing those I've started again on animation things. Even had a bit of a go at a Jaunt ship named after a character who logically should've been a saint in the mirror universe. Mostly for laughs though, wasn't a serious attempt.
