X-Men: Apocalypse announced for May 2016

It was never even explained how Stryker's son brainwashed Xavier in X2. His powers are to cast illusions, not brainwash people. Why would Xavier do anything when he's explicitly being told to kill people?

Because he wasn't. The illusory child was telling him to use Cerebro to find all the mutants. He wasn't aware that Stryker had wired his recreation of Cerebro to kill mutants.

Nope. In the movie it is explained that all Charles has to do is focus hard enough on a particular group in order to kill them. It had nothing to do with device; it would have worked just as well if he had done it using the Cerebro in the mansion.

Surely there is an element of mind control when it comes to Jason's powerful telepathic illusions. The serum that comes from him does control minds directly, so it stands to reason that there might be a 'coercion' effect to the illusions.

I believe that's called a plothole.

Also, no thanks on taylor Swift as Dazzler. Lets get an actual actress please. I'm sure one of the young blonde ladies from Pitch Perfect could fill the role.

We have a new pic. I like Munn & Fass.
And I'll wait for more pics/videos but Apocalypse looks like shit here.

I think Apocalypse looks reasonably good. More appropriately Egyptian than his comics design, and without that weird band of color across his lips and cheeks.

Psylocke's costume is a lot more comics-authentic than I expected, and I'm not sure that's a good thing, because it's more impractical and sexualized than the costumes in X-Men movies usually are.

Storm looks terrific, though. They got a really gorgeous actress to play her, plausible as a younger version of Halle Berry (though hopefully better in the role). And the mohawk looks good.

Most of the costumes look good. I would have preferred Storm's mohawk be narrower, revealing more scalp. I don't like Apocalypse's face or head in general. Also, it is weird seeing the character at a human scale. He's always freakishly large in the books and he loses a lot of presence this way.

I think "freakishly large" would look a lot sillier in live action than in cartoon form. Hopefully the presence will come from Isaac's performance.

Besides, these look like set photos rather than actual clips from the film. You can do a lot with camera angles, lighting, sound design, and other tricks to make people seem more imposing onscreen.

Well the movie is set in the 80s, so I guess there's a good excuse for the high-cut 80s swimsuit Munn is wearing. Although why it's still being used in the comics I have no idea.

I don't see how something that is explicitly explained in the movie can be called a plothole.
