Has Nomad appeared in any novels or comics?

Does anyone know if the Nomad probe from The Changeling has appeared in any novels or comics? I know it blew itself up, but it still could've appeared in a mirror universe or Abramsverse story.

Jackson Roykirk showed up in "Rise and Fall of Khan", but the probe itself, as far as I can remember no. Apparently there was a slightly-off reference in "Prime Directive", though. From Memory Beta:

Captain Anne Gauvreau claimed to have recovered other Nomad probes in deep space, which she in turn sold to the Smithsonian Institution. (TOS novel: Prime Directive)

As it is stated canonically that only one Nomad was built and launched, Gauvreau likely either misspoke, or misidentified her discoveries.

While Memory Beta is not always up-to-date, it's always worth a visit for these types of question.

But skim because... (often) spoilers!

I have a feeling its launch (and creator) gets a brief mention in the "Starfleet Spaceflight Chronology".

As I recall, though, sometime in the 1970s, some Star Trek merchandise vendor (and I'm pretty sure it was Lincoln Enterprises) offered a No Smoking sign that featured Nomad. The caption? "Smokers will be sterilized."

(As I recall, there was also one that declared that "Smokers will be introduced to the Salt Vampire.)

I did look on Memory Beta but I asked the question anyway because I know Memory Beta is often incomplete.

Bringing attention to a possibly incomplete MB article is the best way to get it filled. I've done that myself for numerous entries that people noticed were lacking.

On topic: I don't remember Nomad being mentioned in written works, but the model appeared in Mayweather's quarters and the Malurians' fate is heavily foreshadowed in Rise of the Federation.

Off topic: Therin, now that you mention your work on Memory Beta, can you verify the planet Arret from the negative universe was a fake by aliens? It says so on the page but I don't have the book/source and didn't want to buy it just to edit an article. As you're an accomplished collector, I thought you might know.

That's from Alan Dean Foster's adaptation of "The Counter-Clock Incident" in Star Trek Log Seven. The episode as presented was so completely nonsensical that Foster retconned the whole thing into an illusion.

Yep. And then the final two-thirds of the book uses his shelved TOS Season Four double-episode spec Klingon script, featuring Captain Kumara, Kirk's former exchange student roommate.

I recall Bjo Trimble's "ST Concordance" assuming there were two Arrets. The negative universe's Arret was a reverse Earth (aka "Terra" spelled backwards).
