"Agent Carter" season one discussion and spoilers

Twenty bucks now and twenty bucks when real Trek is back on my TV.

Meanwhile, the Agent Carter showrunners will be taking over as the new writers of the Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) comic book. I guess only having to make 8-10 episodes a year leaves them time to do other stuff.

I figured James D'Arcy would be back, but I'm happy to hear that Enver Gjokaj will be, too. I'm sure Lyndsy Fonseca and Bridget Regan will also return. I wouldn't be particularly bothered if Chad Michael Murray didn't come back. His character never really clicked for me, and he has an easy excuse for not showing up again, being too busy running the New York SSR branch.

I think Kelly Sue DeConnick has done a great job and it'll be sad to see her go, but I think they'd be a good choice.

Glad to hear about the returning cast members. Hopefully they won't be the only ones.

If Gjokaj is back, in a season set on the other side of the country, I'd say the odds of him becoming Peggy's husband just went up considerably...

^Unless they're going for a bait and switch, knowing full well it's what viewers are sort of expecting.

Indeed, with all the talk of WWII and Rogers in the show, you'd have thought Sousa would have mentioned Cap once rescued his whole unit, which is pretty much all we know of Peggy's husband.

It might also be worth considering that we only know that about who her husband was in 1953. She could have been divorced or widowed at any time after that. There's also an outside chance that her spouse in '53 was her second husband, so Sousa may not be the man she mentioned in that clip.

Also, he doesn't like to talk about it, so if it does get mentioned later, it wouldn't be 'just' for dramatic timing. I think a guy like Sousa just blabbing that Cap saved him would hurt his pride or make him feel like he's name dropping. That's my impression of his character.
Unlike Thompson, who would have turned it in to helping Cap and saving him and mentioning it whenever he felt like it would help his status.

BTW, I know Thompson is a common name in US but is there any chance he's Flash's grandfather? He reminds me of a Flash Thompson.

Only a small portion of AC viewers are intense enough fans of the MCU to be wondering who a once-mentioned husband will turn out to be, IMO.

Why? He knows Cap is a sore subject for her, and the reason many of their coworkers think she's still employed by the SSR in the first place, so it'd be polite of him not to just casually it that out there. Besides, the day Captain America rescued Sousa's unit was the most glorious day of his life... but for Steve Rogers, it was Tuesday. ;)

And while Kevin Feige is a bit waffle-y on the subject, even Hayley thinks this could be an interesting way to go.

That would be a very interesting way to go, especially since we know she eventually marries and has children. It could mean her relationship with her husband would be a "sham marriage", or perhaps more of a marriage of convenience though not devoid of platonic affection.
Touches on all sorts of things like the treatment of non-heterosexuals in that era, the need to love double lives (very ironically appropriate for a spy show) and keeping up appearances.

I seriously doubt they'd go there, but I'd be very impressed if they took a crack at it.

Right Christopher.
I have no clue where Serial Killer totally and out of whole cloth created the belief that my statement implied or stated that being 'Bi' meant one went around shagging all the time.

^^^^^^
Wouldn't be a sham marriage if she were 'bi'

I meant in the sense that (theoretically) she'd be married to a man for appearances only, while actively in a relationship with a woman. Said man of course being OK with this (again, theoretically) for his own reasons. Think something along the lines Cumberbatch & Knightley 'The Imitation Game'. But yes, "sham" may be too strong a word for what that would really be.
