Imagine if, instead of giving us this cool-looking, but ultimately completely meaningless battle on Kashyyk prior to Order 66, George decided to use the Wookie homeworld as the stage for Jedi's final stand against the Imperial Clones?
Could have been epic, just think about it... Thousands of troopers charging at the Jedi from the sea, air and ground, the Jedi and the Wookies fighting them off 300 style, defeating them just barely, bodies all over the place... Then they get bombarded from orbit, fade to black, bye bye Jedi order.
*sigh*
Is it? I've seen that pilot twice, and barely remember any of it.Isn't that the opening to Firefly?![]()
I love ROTJ, but it does still feel a bit wrong that it wasn't Han taking part in that epic space battle at the end, and flying the Falcon into the middle of the Death Star. The action taking place down on Endor, while entertaining, just wasn't nearly as cool or memorable.
The good thing is we're likely to see an awful LOT of Han flying the Falcon and doing all kinds of cool and crazy things with it in the new movie (at least judging from the trailers and the few spoilers I've read).

I'm glad we didn't have to see that.Chewie and the other Wookiee would jump on the Walker and pull off the distracted pilots.

Ford is a little old to be leading the battle on the planet at this stage, so I bet you're right.
His biggest 21st century hit up to now is the most controversial and (on average) the most disliked movie in the Indiana Jones franchise.
No doubt the Ewoks were made a helluva lot cuter and cuddlier than they should have been, but I still think they provided for a much better underdog against the Empire than the big and fearsome Wookies.
I'd just like to remind everyone that the Ewoks threw a helluva party after the Rebel Alliance won the day. They likely served lots of food to all the attending Rebels, if you catch my drift.
