Enter: Doctor Who Avatar Contest: Before They Were Doctors

Greetings, fellow Whovians! After an unexpected 4-way tie breaker vote, we will now resume our regular avatar contests.


The theme for this contest is Before They Were Doctors. What we're going for this time are avatars from any TV or movie role played by any of the Doctor's portrayers before his first appearance as the Doctor.

For example, if you want to enter an avatar of William Hartnell, it has to be of him in any role shown on TV or in a movie before November 1963.

When you post your entries, please include a note stating which TV show or movie the avatar is from. Please note that the actor must be in character - not, for example, in an interview situation or a candid photo.

Only the regular Doctors' portrayers are eligible. With William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, John Hurt, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, and Peter Capaldi to choose from, there should be plenty of possibilities!


Entries will be accepted until midnight MDT Saturday, June 20. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

BTW, in my original post my entry was David Tennant as Barty Crouch, Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. After checking the dates though it turned out that 10's first appearance, "Parting of the Ways", aired 5 months before Goblet came out. I mention this in case anyone else was thinking of entering that character.
