Warner Bros. Circling David Ayer for DC Comics’ ‘Suicide Squad’

After having now seen the cast pictures and the one with the Joker, I could not possibly be less intrigued or less interested in learning anything more about these characters.

I have never heard of Slipknot or El Diablo :wtf:

I'm delighted to see so many characters though. As Avengers 2 proved, the more the merrier!

Given this is a film called Suicide Squad - need some z-list cannon fodder to die in horrible ways...

I think Harley looks awesome. I never expected them to put her in the simple red and black suit of BTAS anyway.

Harley for me will be all about the voice and the violent insanity. I do hope she gets some time with a giant hammer though. A baseball bat is kind of blah for her style.

I have to admit, after seeing the rest of the cast, I can see why Joker looks the way he does. Even if it is a very different look from what he usually has, it'll fit in with this movie a lot more than the traditional look probably would.

Not really digging Harley's look. I haven't kept up with much N52 stuff, but at least they could have kept her proper colors (red & black). :p

Some artists have taken to giving her a more bubblegum pop look lately with blue and pink/red rather than the red/black/white combo. They also tend to make her look like a teenager. I can't say I'm keen on it, much like I wasn't keen on faceless Joker or a lot of other choices of late, but I don't read many comics these days so I can thankfully ignore them for the most part.

From the pics it looks to me like Margot Robbie was a pretty great casting, interested to see the performance.

Apparently there is a building named after John Ostrander, who wrote the Post Crisis Suicide Squard series. I think this is really cool. Like the Stan Lee cameos and Chris Claremount cameo in DOFP.

That's cool. I always love it when they put little nods to the comic's history, both real world and in universe.

Suicide Squad intensifies!

I can't hear Leto's voice in the video, but I like his body language. It reminds me of the B:TAS Joker. I think he even threw a little Astaire in there while circling Harley (or Dr. Quinzel, since this seems to be a pre-Harley flashback). This looks like a more traditional Joker (ink aside) than the Ledger version, or certainly a different one. It's gotten me interested.

One bit about the video that caught my eye: I was wondering about that guy who was crouching down in front of the car during the scene, but by the end it became apparent that he was evidently holding up the mat that Robbie was going to fall on. I guess that "catching" her in the mat and letting it move to absorb her momentum was easier on her than just letting it lie flat. Or maybe it made less noise that way.

Viola Davis should make a terrific Waller. She was my preference for the role before she was even announced as a candidate.

This Suicide Squad movie shares the same universe with MoS / BvS, yes? This makes Jared's Joker the definitive big-screen version of the character at the moment (meaning - before the next inevitable reboot).

Big shoes to fill.

Yes, apparently the plan is that all the DC movies from MoS onward are in a shared reality -- a separate one from the various DC television series. It's rumored that Leto's Joker will cameo in a flashback scene in BvS, though that's just a rumor.
