Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

^ No, I wouldn't think so. And not because of the network but because there certain types of cheese that seem to be verboten with modern audiences. Plus, Sean Connery might sue ;).

Just making conversation, sarcasm or no, my point works either way since I'm saying it's more than the network preventing a crazy Zardoz Vartox from appearing on our screens.

^Err, we haven't seen the show's version of Vartox yet, so we don't know how they'll end up portraying him. This is a Greg Berlanti show, after all, and those often tend to be surprisingly authentic in their portrayal of comics characters.

Wow, I got a .gif* and an "err, " in the same thread. I get it I suck, I'm out...

EDIT: Sorry, a picture in the JPEG format created by the Joint Photographic Experts Group and not a GIF (Graphics Interchange Format).

The man they have chosen is massive, very tall, or the rest of the mentalist cast are midgets, I would say that he is perfect for the classic costume if he wasn't so damn old.

(Or at least too old to be a teen idol.)

Well...I hadn't known that Vartox was based on Connery...you learn something new every day.

Now...who will they cast to play Captain Strong?

One can only hope.

A candid, untouched picture of Melissa Benoist in costume has been posted online:

Not much new to see in this one, but it's nice to see a different shot of the suit, and one that hasn't been Phototshopped.

This was all but assured most outlets felt like. I'm eager to see what they do with this.

I want to know about Constantine Season 2...come on NBC make the renewal call!

Awesome news. Especially since the show would have reportedly been way too expensive to air on the CW as a fallback if it hadn't been greenlit.

^i dont know about it being to expensive, Flash has lots going on including a few flying characters.

I am optimistic about this due to the producers track record with Arrow and the Flash.

My main skepticism is how Superman's absence is dealt with. Whatever the explanation many are going to want to see more of him than we will get. Birds of Prey all over again. Or closer comparison the Supergirl movie without Christopher Reeve.

I already can't wait for the episode where no villain turns up and she doesn't have to turn into Supergirl at all.

That was a nice thing about forever, an immortal who only died 5 or 6 times (in the present) over the course of 22 episodes.

Superman isn't "absent" in this show; he and Kara are just living separate lives.

Right. Apparently the show is set in "National City," not Metropolis. So there's no more need to explain Superman's absence in Supergirl than there's a need to explain the Flash's absence in Arrow or Gary Sinise's absence in CSI: Miami. They're just responsible for different cities.
