Following up on the Dark Horizons Spock, here's the Captian Kirk model sculpted by the same fella, serving to remind me that I don't paint faces very well

I added to the kit-supplied swarm of tribbles with some tiny pom-poms my wife was using for her dollhouse projects.

Eh, you did all right. I think this model's failings are in the sculpt, not the paint so much. Doesn't look much like the Shat. The tunic clings too closely to his body, and the legs/pants just seem really bizarre to me.

I think you did pretty good for what the sculptor gave you to work with.

Looks closer to Vic Mignogna's version of Kirk.

Can't blame yourself. Shatner's features have always been difficult for artists to get right. With 3d versions, they might get it to look like him from one certain angle with proper lighting, but not others.

I think it looks great... it is strange that the sculptor made the pants so tight,, but the details are great.

The others are right. Your paintjob is amazing. The face just doesn't look that much like Shatner. That looks more like Jack Lord as Kirk.

I found the same issue with Three Stooges paintable models. They looked so not like the actual Stooges, I didn't buy them.
