First of all, I would like to thank the voters in the previous contest for their participation in general, and their support for our Lovable Sun in particular. :)

This time around, we'll be coming back to Earth. It's finally spring (it comes later in the year in this part of the world ;)), and in spring, many peoples' fancies turn to... gardens, and getting out of the home for nice long walks.

Therefore the theme this time is Walkways & Garden Paths

So what we're looking for this time is pathways, whether they're in your back yard, a local or famous park or garden, or a path through the forest. Photos of bridges and stairs are fine as long as a pathway is visible. The idea is a pathway or walkway where people actually walk on foot, outdoors.

    What is not okay:

    - a porch or deck if no path is visible.

    - vegetable gardens or farms (sorry, the space between the rows does not count as a path for the purpose of this contest)

    - a road where motor vehicles are normally found. Bike trails are okay as long as they're not for motorbikes.

    - For the purpose of this contest, sidewalks are not eligible. Yes, we walk on them. But what I hope to see here are avatars that incorporate pathways and nature, not any normal city street that we see all the time.

Normal rules apply as to size and content - no entries from TV shows, movies, or comics, please.

Entries will be accepted until midnight MDT, Tuesday, April 21. I look forward to seeing what people come up with. :)

    Brilliant theme!

I might be able to snap a shot or two this weekend... beach or woods, or maybe just garden.

    Yes, I'll accept that.

Are those motor vehicle tire tracks I see in that picture? :vulcan:

    No roads, please.

Another shot from Moswetuset-- can you tell it's one of my favorite spots? :rommie: Off to the right would be Quincy Bay and to the left a clearing where the sachem of the Massachusett Indians once held forth (and was visited by Miles Standish).

Hmm, I... honestly don't know. I got the picture online, and it was described as a "path", but...

    Is this one better?

Elevated walkway and bridge (so there's low impact on wildlife) over the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Ecological Preserve here in my hometown of Huntington Beach, California. There's a regular dirt trail around the perimeter of the bay and marshes after that.

This shot, from today, is one I think I could make into a decent path-avatar:

It's nice, but it needs to be a little smaller. ;)
