Ant-Man: Info, Pics, Rumors, Casting and Details till release

Most movies have some sort of climax to them. Some don't, but those movies are usually art films that aren't really watched by general audiences.

GotG made tons of money with characters that weren't widely known to mainstream audiences--mostly because it was a good movie.

I imagine it Ant-Man is a good movie it'll do well.

So, surely, it'll be a problem when Episode VIII comes out and does a $200 million opening weekend purely on the "brand recognition" of Disney and Star Wars.

It's just crazy how loyalty to a franchise, actor, director or whatever will cause a movie to be more popular. Take away Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Walker's death, and a pretty good run of six-other films and what are you left with? Furious 7 is just another forgettable action movie. We're all just sheeple falling for things we like drawing us to see movies by allowing advertising of things we like to draw us go to the movies.

We should all be annoying hipsters and hate popular things purely because they are popular, ignoring any possible merits that caused them to be popular in the first place.

Ah, but shouldn't one hate hating popular things because they're popular because in-of-itself, THAT'S popular!

Ahhh.... It's...

I have no idea what you just said, but I know I did it before you.

:)

Okay.

Hating popular things is a "hipster" thing because we're all sheeple liking popular things simply because they are popular.

But, if a hipster is not liking one of those popular things simply because those in his group -other hipsters- don't like it...

Is that not being a sheeperson? He's not liking something because it's popular to not like it.

I've never understood the attitude that people only like something because it's popular. Usually there has to be something good about something for it to become popular in the first place. If something starts out popular, but not that good it'll tend to fade, which is why stuff like the Star Wars, Mavel, Star Trek, Bond, ect. continue to be popular, because they still tend to deliver good products. It isn't always the core product, but there is still stuff there that people find to like.

Marvel Studios has released a more comprehensive cast poster for Ant-Man today.

Boasting, "From the studio that brought you 'Guardians of the Galaxy'" rather than the current box office hit "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the text implies that the self-deprecating humor exhibited in the movie's trailers may be more pervasive than perhaps some have expected.

Cast Rundown for any late to the party:
Paul Rudd = Scott Lang/Ant-Man (top right)
Evangeline Lilly = Hope Van Dyne(middle left)
Corey Stoll = Darren Cross/Yellowjacket(lower left)
Bobby Cannavale = Paxton(middle right, not a comic character I think)
Michael Pena = Luis (lower right, not a comic character I think)
Michael Douglas = Hank Pym/Ant-Man (top left)

It's about as standard of an action movie poster as they make. It's still better than the jumbled photoshop job of a poster for Age of Ultron

Iron Man 3
Thor Dark World
Captain America First Avenger
Lord of the Rings:FotR
Harry Potter:OotP

If there is a trope for large cast films and their movie poster it's this theme and variations on it. Central figure with supporting cast layered in/around in a decreasing size.

Also: Sorry Timby, thought the linking rules had changed for some reason.
