Star Trek Continues, Episode 4...

All of us at STC are very excited about the construction of our new sets! Can not wait to film on them!

I think there's almost three story's worth of height on those sets. The upper level--plus some non-descript stuff up above that second level.

Does anyone know how much vertical space the STC studio affords?

I understand they're already beginning work on Ep. 6. If genuine then is it conceivable that STC could release three episodes (4, 5 and 6) within the year?

Wow!

Looks to me like they have enough space to build a respectable set.

I love the three STC episodes, and I can't wait to see the next one. And the one after that, and the one after that...

STC has pretty much rekindled my interest in TOS.

From photos posted on the FB page for the past while now it looks as if Lt. Palmer (Uhura's alternate in TOS) will be appearing in Ep. 4 and/or 5.

I can tell you that there is plenty of height at the STC facility for the full size of the engine room.

Apparently Vic Mignogna is in Dubai presently for a convention where he will also be screening "Mirror, Mirror" and "Fairest Of Them All." Also apparently William Shatner is attending the same convention.

I am curious to know if Shatner has seen any of the STC episodes and what his opinion might be.

On another note Doug Drexler is featuring shots of a custom built studio scale TOS Romulan Bird of Prey on his FB page. It looks amazing (see the TOS forum for pics) and if the right story came about I would LOVE to see that in an STC episode. Ditto for the Klingon D7 battle cruiser.

Of all the fan productions that are currently in production, I'd love to see STC get some sort of deal with CBS to make TOS webisodes or something similar for official streaming. They get TOS--if that makes sense.

In the General Trek Discussion forum there is a thread about personal continuity--what you accept or don't accept happened in your view of continuity.

I don't mind saying that in the visual medium STC counts (so far) as being part of my view of TOS' continuity. They have really nailed that sense of consistency on so many levels. No, it isn't perfect, but then TOS sometimes did things I wish they hadn't as well.

Even if some of it seems "self-indulgent" I still think they're doing a bang-up job.

Honestly, most fan films are hard for me to sit all the way through. But I've not only sat through each of STC's 3 episodes to date, I've watched them multiple times. Each one is tighter than the last, and they keep raising the bar.

I read some discussion in another thread about the sets, but a few inaccuracies don't bother me a bit. Quite frankly, I never even noticed what was pointed out. Probably because I watched and came to love TOS on a 19" black and white TV in the early 70s. But that's neither here nor there.

As long as STC maintains the quality they've put out so far I'm right there, 100%.

There was a time that Shatner made quite a point of saying he'd never watched Star Trek at all, didn't like to watch himself and wasn't interested in the other series. That may have changed, but I'd bet dimes to dollars he hasn't watched any video Fan Trek. I trust he read the Trek novels which listed him as the author.
