Why is there even a poll?

To show by what margin the original dominates the sequels. lol

Well there could be someone out there who thinks one of the sequels is better than the original.

There almost always is. Even with the Die Hard and Predator polls, there were some stragglers who voted for some of the sequels. This is the first poll where no one has voted for a sequel.

The original. It's a film of two halves; I love the flashback material, which is pretty timeless, and the then-present day stuff has dated horribly but is perfect 80s-cheese fun. Christopher Lambert is about as Scottish as a croissant, but it kind of works - he's got the rhythm and the cadence down, just not the vowels - if you consider that he'd probably be speaking a medieval Gaelic dialect anyway so it hardly matters! At least in the present they address it as him having been all over the world in 400 years. That said, Lambert as a Scotsman with a French accent, explaining haggis to Sean Connery, playing an Egyptian with a Scottish accent is one of the most bizarre moments in film history.

I'm a fan of the TV series so I found the fourth film enjoyable despite its flaws - the main one for me being that Lambert is clearly 30 years too old to still be playing an immortal who's supposed to look 18 (albeit an 18-year-old of the year 1536 - he was 28 when he made the first film). It was at least fun to unite Connor and Duncan, even if it was the Connor of the series' continuity; continuity being a word to be used lightly in relation to Highlander!

The first one, obviously.

Now as for second favourite I'd go for 'Highlander 2'. Why? Well because while all the Highlander sequels were terrible, at least 'Highlander 2' managed to be terrible in an interesting and memorable way. The others were just dull, utterly forgettable dreck.

Full disclosure: I never did see 'Highlander: The Source' so for all I know it could be an overlooked masterpiece....but somehow I doubt it.

I really enjoyed the first few seasons, but I lost interest after 2 or 3 and then there was a lot of extra weird stuff that lost me.

I suppose I'll be the odd one out and vote for Endgame. :p  The original is an okay movie, but it suffers from from annoying tropes IMO (the Kurgan is a pretty silly villain, with no real development compared to Connor). I haven't really watched many of the sequels, although The Quickening does have some amusement for me in the guilty pleasure category. It's pretty bad and not remotely a good sequel, but as someone else said it fails in some interesting ways.

I always was kind of more into the series myself, and I thought Endgame worked okay. It's not perfect and has its own flaws, but I thought they brought up some interesting questions about how immortality has its own perils. If you made a terrible mistake that drove a loved one away, as Duncan did, how can you make things right when both parties have eternity to suffer the repercussions?
