When you get pinned down by a subspace anchor thingy, shoot it and kill it ASAP, not sure if Polarize Hull and Attack Pattern Omega provide immunity against those as effectively as they do against tractor beams.

I don't believe there is any boff skill to combat the constriction anchors effects other than destroying them.

I know one of the pilot skills does, that gives Evasive Maneuvers an immunity buff against holds.

I tend to use Subspace Jump or some other teleport console. Works quite well, but you run a cooldowns risk if you aggro multiple enemies.

I believe that the vesta funky shield console also pops you free of them. And everything else. It gave me a cocky 'yeah...well...just be on way now' sense every time i used it.

So, I'm still trying to get my character to 'badass' level on the ground as well as in space. I think I've managed on the ground in PvE. She has a 160 dps Phaser II and a 150 dps Phaser III....and 160 Cochran shotgun, which I renamed 'Nellie' (or some similarly sounding name) when I'm on Defera. The Commando specializations definitely help.

In space, I'm using the Ambassador retrofit with Tetryon beams. I recently finished getting the starship trait for the Kobali carrier so I was able to ditch that ship. I have the Kobali set on my ship which helps when I'm almost down to zero in regards to health.

With my R&D, I'm nearly lvl 15 on all boards. And, I'm going to have to start thinking about what I want to lvl up in regards to the Tetryon or the Antiproton weaponry. (Mind you, I also have some tech points to spend from the previous Q thingy).

Since I want to be able to transwarp various places, I'm primarily working on my Diplomatic Doff missions so I can get the - at this moment - transwarp ability to Starbase 39 and DS9.

Keep in mind that the fleet starbase serves as an excellent transwarp hub with destinations to every sector block wirh the exception of Defera and Gamma Orionis and Tau Dewa and Delta Quadrant which you unlock through reps.

Thinking about buying a T6 ship in STO sometime next week. Really want an escort with a command seat for BOFFs, but gonna settle for the tactical Command Battleship, as I can use that with multiple characters. Opinions?

Command Cruiser - presidio class ist an excellent versatile cruiser, though the Operations variant looks tons better. I only got the look I wanted because I have the pack.

It is not in any way comparable to an escort, even though it can use dual cannons.

There are no escorts with a command seat afaik for now with the exception of the new Jem'Hadar StrikE Ship that can slot intel and command boffs. A bit on the expensive side, though.

So, if you want an escort you might want to hold out a bit more.

But I expect them to release an escort or destroyer 3 pack next with pilot boff seating (The canon fetishist in me hopes for a T6 Defiant upgrade - Valiant class)

Does the vaadwaur escort (manassa?) have a command seat, it did come out the same time as the command specializations.

Also the updated negh'var skin has been found in the ship tailor on tribble. looks nice :)

I didn't even bother to buy any R&D boxes, to win have a chance to win the superbug ship. I knew it was a command/intel boffs in it.

A few weeks ago, I started grinding dilithium to save to buy the 3 pack. I might do that, but gonna see what happens, as I know there will be more ships. Was reading on the forum just before about T5 ships that should be made into T6 ships. Plus I saw something about T6 fleet ships also on facebook earlier. Nothing official about that yet.

I'll decide what I'll do next week, as I could buy some upgrades for my Klingon ships, and more keys.

It is also on Holodeck now.
I am really happy they made the update, the model looks much more like it did on the screen now.

So it updates the existing ship appearance? That is nice.

So i guess we can look forward to content featuring that ship and/or a new T6 version appearing soon. ;)

Not a bad idea, I hope you have fun! :D

I'm working through level 57 at the moment, having finally started on Delta Rising (I'm slow to get moving). It has been pretty decent, so far, and I've really started liking the upgrade system, having now managed to upgrade my Mk X legacy borg gear up to Mk XII. The only irksome thing I've found is that there simply aren't enough missions to level you up, and you invariably have to grind, or at least that's been my experience.

Also, getting ancient power cells is a PITA.

You're still quicker than me, I am only at level 54 and I started a couple months ago with Delta Rising! :S But I agree with the leveling up problem, there needs to be more missions capable of making you level up the game. At first I wasn't sure if it was the game telling me to stop or if I broke it. I think they did it to make players more interested in PvE/PvP, Found and Foundry missions, and Battlezones. :/

Completely agreed. I'm halfway through level 59, and I've done more missions now than I ever did during the game's regular run. Seriously, I dig around for just about any mission I can find. They've upped things so much and there's so little new content to match it. There just isn't enough for leveling. I was doing missions I haven't done since I started playing back in 2010, just so I could scrounge more skill points!

They make it like each mission will be enough to push you toward the next one, but you finish your level 58 mission, and you gain 4,000 points out of a needed 147,000. It's just inadequate without grinding. So Delta Rising has brought back grinding. Woo.

Around level 54 I found entirely too much grinding to level up. Which is why my game playing time has gone down and I am still at 54.

The missions are a little tiring, too, at least for me. Pewpewpew in space, beam down, pewpewpew, lose shields in two seconds, die, respawn, pewpewpew, win, then back to space where they've tried to escape, pewpewpew, time to go to the next system, pewpewpew, ad nauseam. I play them on advanced so I can get power cells, and I finally got my last ancient power cell for a Mk XII ground shield, but by the time I got it, I had moved well beyond the need for that piece of equipment (I now have a Mk XIII purple), and of course it's bound to you so you can't sell it, so I put it on one of my officers.

You can upgrade nearly every piece of gear to Mk XIV now. Reputation gear that you upgrade is more powerful than dropped loot Mk XIII.

Though that is a bit of a grind in itself and costs dilithium.

That, I have to say, is the best thing about STO right now, is the upgrade system. For 1/3 of what I'd have to pay on the exchange, I can upgrade my gear to Mk XIV. As you say, though, the downside is it really costs a boatload of dilithium, and I find myself hampered by that.

Also, I got burned by that system when I tried to upgrade one of my officers' body armor, which went from Mk XII purple to Mk XIII blue instead of Mk XIII purple. It cost a lot of dilithium for that mistake.

That sounds like a bug. have you filed a bug report?

No, I didn't figure it was a bug. I thought it was a possible result of the upgrade.
