For anybody interested, Jedi Temple Archives has posted a link to a statement that - among other details about a wider range of 3.75" product - indicates that the planned Ahsoka and Darth Vader 2-pack of figures based on Rebels will be released sometime this fall, though quite possibly not in the current Star Wars: Rebels packaging and cardback design.

While I wait on my SH Figuart's Luigi action figure. I found this "World of Nintendo" Luigi figure to hold me over. I must say. His paint job is way superior to the World of Nintendo Mario figure.

It's always wise to control a toy's access to human beverages. You don't want them getting out of control. :)

Those miniature pizza's are worth it. Most realistic mini pizza's I've ever seen. I'm always reminded of that scene from Back to the Future 2. :rommie:

It's springtime for the Shelf Avengers! There's a Hawk and a Mockingbird in the bird feeder...

I have some new pics ready, after too many RL distractions. :p  I recently acquired the new Aerialbot team, and I'm looking forward to getting Slingshot eventually. I think Alpha Bravo has gotten an unfair amount of harsh criticisms from some fans, personally, solely because he's not Slingshot. :p

There have been some minor changes to most of the vehicle modes, which I don't really mind. It's been speculated that Fireflight was originally going to be released as Slingshot, as they both now share the same mold (Harrier) and that was Slingshot's original form. Skydive is still largely based on the F-16 although he has twin tails since he shares his mold with Air Raid.

I think Hasbro deserves some credit for Silverbolt's redesign, as they came up with some very clever ideas. One of the best improvements is that Superion's elements are incorporated in such a way that they don't require a lot of extra space and they fit in with the existing transformation. Silverbolt's rifle now splits into a shield and an actual gun, since it's scaled for Superion's use and unfortunately Silverbolt can't hold the combined form. You also can't use said form in plane mode if you want to use his front landing gear as well, but you can use the rifle component.

I think it's also good that his arms don't look nearly as awkward as they do on some of the publicity stills. It's true that they sort of just fold in at an angle, but it's less noticeable if you know where to aim the camera. They actually fit pretty well with the hull.

Alpha Bravo is a pretty nice figure, IMO, and I think he fits in pretty well with the other Aerialbots despite what his detractors say. Superion was the unexpected result of Megatron's machinations to make combiners, chiefly a version of Devastator that he could merge with, and a brainwashed Prowl was used as a template. Superion was heavily damaged fighting Prowlvastator while the Autobots tried to get through to Prowl's normal self, and the Aerialbots were left comatose. Alpha was recruited as a potential replacement since Slingshot apparently took the most damage.

Fireflight, renamed Firefly for legal reasons, is interesting in that his design seems based more on the G1 toy than the other Aerialbots, all of whom have sculpts incorporating details from their animated models. Fireflight's animated model looked more like Air Raid's, with a similar "butterfly" wing pattern and no mouthplate. His original form was an F-4 Phantom.

I took this shot to show off Skydive's wing missiles. The Japanese version has paint apps based on his original stickers than the gold versions seen on his wings here. His mold is unique in that his shoulders are designed to rotate down before his arms peg in, which is admittedly a bit awkward the first time.

Air Raid is a nice retool of Skydive, with a few interesting changes. He was originally an F-15 Eagle and is now an F-14 Falcon, with the wings being articulated in a new way. While the instructions mention having his wings flipped up in robot mode, you can also have them down in a way that matches his animated model, as seen in this picture.

The best part of the set, of course, is merging the team into... SUPERION! :D

One of the changes I like is that Silverbolt actually combines upside down relative to his G1 form. His arms form Superion's upper legs and his legs form the shoulders, with his wings and some flip-out panels recreating the design of his G1 chest plate. The only thing I dislike here is that certain parts have the soft rubbery plastic, including Superion's antennae and the vertical fins on Skydive and Air Raid. It doesn't hold its shape particularly well, and I don't like how seemingly fragile it is since Superion's head folds into Silverbolt's chest. Air Raid had a fin that was somewhat deformed by being in the card, although Skydive doesn't seem to have the same issue. Maybe it was thought to be the best choice for Superion's ears, but I really wish it was more solid personally.

Each of the four limb members has a pod that can double as vehicular weapons (they can use it in either mode, but I omitted them in the above pictures because I felt it looked better) or components for Superion. The pods have a folding joint which can act as a heelspur or thumb, depending on the configuration, and also mounting points for the smaller weapons. Skydive and Air Raid both have a pod with missile-like barrels since they share molds. Fireflight's has more of an energy cannon, and it's possible that Slingshot will have this as well. Alpha Bravo has a twin gatling pod.

I got the S.H.I.E.L.D. 3 pack today, so I reworked my Marvel Cinematic Universe shelf:

Fury is the same figure that was released in the Captain America line. He does have a new left hand and a new paint job at least. Hill is mostly the Captain America Black Widow, including the frustrating guns molded into the holsters. The likeness is pretty good though. I certainly see Colby Smulders. Coulson is an all new figure, and is the real highlight. The likeness on both his heads is great, and he comes with the really awesome Destroyer Gun.

Thanks. I try to make do the best I can with my limited space.

Man, we really need more MCU villain figures. Loki and Winter Soldier are the only ones.
