PICTURE POST II!

Here's a picture of me and my two friends on our ship the Reagan CVN 76!
Sweet! I've always wanted to visit a carrier to see some of my handiwork in action. (Designed some of the parts on the Super Hornet's flaps & ailerons.) Not very likely for a civilian I know, but I can dream!

Thanks for your service to the country, Brie. Great pictures, by the way! I hope you post some more, especially any from the line of duty.

I painted another thingy!

Once again, I did it just with the random paint that was already lying around the house. It's a little bit brighter in person, but I couldn't get a picture of it in good lighting without there being a big glare.

It's not quite what I had imagined in my head, but considering my complete lack of painting experience and the fact that it's done entirely with latex wall paint and a single large brush, I'm not too upset about it.

RoJo I like that a lot. The mountains look very stoney (texture wise) and it's a great contrast with the arcing evening light. And I'm a huge fan of found art, have made one thing myself in that category (rubbish around a house I had just moved into).

I like it! :techman:

I've enjoyed the last two things I've done. I may have just found myself a new hobby!

Incidentally, the mountains were originally supposed to be trees (think Vancouver in an X-Files episode), but it just wasn't working out the way I wanted, so they became mountains. :p

That looks cool, RoJo! Very atmospheric choice of subject matter and I like the use of those colors to contrast the dark of night.

Why Orion?

No particular reason. It's the constellation I am most used to seeing in the sky, and I think the Dippers are boring. :p

This one was shared on our local Face book page

Good morning Victoria
From the Malahat (the Malahat is about 15 miles North of the City)

I sometimes forget what a picturesque part of the world I/we live in.- Bill.

It's very easy to visit actually! VA beach and San Diego both have a bunch of carriers you can scheduled to tour the ship!

Here is my best friend from the ship and I being goofy while we were waiting to actually be assigned work when we were pulling into port. haha we are real characters.

And here we are while watching the ship pull in between the islands of Hawaii. They let all personnel onto the flight deck to take pictures and watch the transit. It was a lot of fun and we got our shop's group photo as we passed.

Here's all of us sitting on the very furthest forward part of the ship on the flight deck. It was so unreal. You have no idea how fast you're going until youre watching from the front. It felt like we were flying.

And here we are in the same spot watching the transit. It really looked like we could jump right into the water from there, but no there's a safety net there!

And here we are actually pulling into port. normally all persons would be in dress whites manning the rails at attention, rendering salutes to pearl harbor but because of my job I had to move around a lot so I got to get some cool pictures. I'll post more of our RIMPAC pictures once I find them!

True, but I was actually referring to visiting when underway and doing flight ops. But thanks anyway!

I don't post many pictures (because I don't like looking at myself nor do I like being photographed), but since my wife made me take a shot for her to have I figured I'd share it...

Which, oddly enough makes me look like my baby picture...

The last previous photo of me (that I know of) was this one from a couple summers ago...

At least now I don't have to take another photo for a couple more years. :D

If any of your family members are on carriers you can do a tiger cruise with them and they will do flight ops for the families :)
