Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Discussion

I recently got caught up on the DVR with this show and finished S2.
I've not read through the thread from my last entry so sorry, did many find the A-story lines about more one off mystries/monsters to be good or bad? Coming out of the mid season break with Mollock defeated, the Captain dead and Henry still alive but now without purpose I found those elements explored in the following episodes B-stories to be interesting enough. They Henry's new purpose with resurrecting the witch power coming to the front in the final episodes to be quite enjoyable. I really liked the hidden Jefferson "Witness" Library and think it was a mistake to blow that up. The time travel element where Abbie has a near similar first encounter on the road like Ichabod did in episode 1 was nice. Not to mention Ben Franklin, such fun!

The season ender felt like it could go either way. Giving enough closure and yet leaving a few threads to pull on for a S3...I hope it gets a Season 3!!

I enjoyed the standalone stories quite a bit. The EJH was great, and I was very disappointed that it was destroyed-- a lot of potential was lost there without much justification. The strong ties to the Revolution is one of my favorite aspects of the show, so I loved the time travel episode-- I wouldn't mind if they did something like that every so often.

While I did prefer the earlier arc heavy episodes, I still thought the stand alones were enjoyable.

Glad the show's coming back. And the showrunner comes from White Collar, eh? That's encouraging; that was a good procedural show with a rich and fun relationship between mismatched leads with a close bond of friendship. But the question is whether Clifton Campbell can maintain the level of crazy we've come to love from the show.

Also, since Sharif Atkins was a regular on White Collar, Campbell's hiring makes it more likely that Atkins's character here -- who had more chemistry with Abbie in any one scene than Hawley had all season -- will return for more.

I'm glad it's coming back and with Moloch and Henry both seemingly dispatched I think that leaves things wide open on where our "Witnesses" paths may go.

Move production? Oh, no, that means the entire appearance of the town is going to change. That really bugged me in The Dead Zone's final season when the production relocated from Vancouver to Montreal and it just didn't feel like it was still in the same place. Of course they can rebuild the interior sets and keep using stock establishing shots of the building exteriors, but in a show like this or TDZ, with a lot of exterior shooting in a regular location representing the characters' hometown, a wholesale change in the exteriors can be disruptive.

Glad to see it renewed. I love both The Glades, and White Collar, so hearing the new show runner worked on both shows has me makes me very happy.
It will be weird seeing the show move though. It wouldn't be as bad if the show didn't spend so much time with the characters weren't out and about as much as they are. It's going to be really jarring the first few episodes to see different surroundings when they are out in the town.

I had a similar issue when the X-Files moved to LA. I know the agents were supposed to be traveling around the country but there are a lot more places in the US that look like BC. The fact that a number of locations were recognizable as being used on other production sets didn't help.

EDIT: That said, I do know a little bit about Atlanta and there are a few locations outside of the main city that could pass for a New England town.

Hopefully, they'll still go up to NC for the 1780's scenes. It was good to see old New Bern once in awhile and my friends there said the whole town really enjoyed the crew whenever they filmed there.

This is great news. SH has been pretty much my favorite show for the last couple of years and I had just about given up.

Yay! Hopefully ...

No more Henry
No more Molloch
No more Hawley
and please ... don't ever bring back Katrina from the dead!

I still don't understand the Katrina hate. They needed an expert on witchcraft to deal with what they dealt with. And Hawley made a good supply guy, isn't he where Ichabod got his crossbow? Hawley mentioned people who were paying him to obtain these magical artifacts, maybe they are the same people Franklin alluded to.

A new demon is going to have to take over the coming apocalypse. If not, it would have to be the Devil himself and I don't think he's as easy to defeat as a demon.
