Saucer Separation

Many have ascribed that line of dialogue to Season One LaForge's oddball sense of humour.

Once he made Chief Engineer he went and got all serious :(

Evidence for and against saucer section warp drive is ambiguous enough, but accepting it would IMHO be the easier route than trying to work around its apparent presence in "EaF" and "AoF". The other route is certainly possible, but if it takes a chase in molasses...

Just to be clear, I'm not buying any of this.

...Just to be clear, what aren't you buying?

OK:

Evidence for and against saucer section warp drive is ambiguous enough
It's not ambiguous. There is no saucer section warp drive, and there is no evidence of one.

but accepting it would IMHO be the easier route
No, it would not be the easier route, though I will concede that you might think so.

than trying to work around its apparent presence in "EaF" and "AoF".
There is no evidence whatsoever of the presence of saucer section warp drive in either of these two episodes. None. Zip. Nada.

Nor is there any evidence whatsoever in either these two episodes, or any other, of the separated saucer having FTL capability in any way, shape, or form.

It didn't really look like anything, since his line was spoken off-camera. So it's only an interpretation of the dialogue.

I must admit, I had the same thought in my head until I actually watched the video! :)
