NFL Offseason 2015 - Countdown to the first arrest

Odd turn here. Seemed like there was a lot of buildup and this was going to come to a head soon, but the whole story just sorta died. Dunno if there wasn't as much as they claimed and someone called the bluff, if someone paid up and it went away, etc. Just looked like it was going to blow one way or the other, and odd that nothing happened after that.

Also, Lynch said he was expecting the ball on that last play :p

Buffalo has acquired LeSean McCoy and Matt Cassel.

Sadly, Cassel might be the best QB Rex Ryan has ever had to work with other than the three months of pre-injured Brett Favre.

Holy crap, the Eagles are overhauling their roster. I'm just curious if Chip makes a play for Mariota.

He seems to be in a Duck collecting frame of mind. Rumors of trading up to get Mariotta have surfaced. I'm trying to figure out when everyone seemed to cool on Foles being the guy.

I would not be shocked if they flip Foles to trade up in order to get Mariota -- but at that point they're going to need to trade pretty much their entire draft, and then they'll need to spend huge in free agency to fill the holes they won't fill from the draft, and then at that point they're Washington.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.

Dumping McCoy will help with salary if they have to turn heavily to free agency.

And Ian Rapoport says the Bears have told teams that Cutler is available.

God damn it.

^The Bears must not want to win another game for two or three years. What an embarrassment that franchise is. But the media believe Cutler sucks, so it must be true.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rams are interested.

There are a lot of teams that could use him: Bills, Eagles, Raiders, Texans, Jets, Bucs, Rams, arguably the Browns and Cardinals.

I just don't get the Bears' strategy here. So they trade Cutler and Marshall and then do ... what? Go into full-on rebuild mode for the next bunch of years? The problem with the team is not the offense, it's that the defense and special teams have been a dumpster fire for the past two seasons. They gave up the most and second-most points in team history the past two years. Someone needs to explain to me how that is the fault of one Jay Christopher Cutler.

Bears are trading Marshall to the Jets pending a physical. God damn it, Bears.

Because the media said so.

Good move by the Jets--if they can find someone to throw him the ball. Bad move by the Bears.

New England released Vince Wilfork.

Thanks for the memories...

Probably the right move given his age (and I think the Pats were ready to cut him even last year), but I believe this makes Brady the only holdover from the '04 team.

There are so many space eaters and one-technique guys available this year, it's bizarre:

Vince Wilfork
Barry Cofield
Ahtyba Rubin
Terrance Knighton
Dan Williams
Letroy Guion
Kenrick Ellis
Damon Harrison (RFA)

Just for the record, the Raiders would'nt want him for anything but a back up. They believe they have their QB for the forseeable future in Derek Carr.

I really don't see why the Eagles would prefer Cutler over Foles. I don't think they want either, but I don't see why they'd go with Cutler who is older and unfamiliar with the system, at a minimum.
