This wasn't quite on the level of The Clone Wars at its best, but it was pretty effective. The lightsaber battle between Kanan and the Inquisitor was very cleverly choreographed, with some really imaginative moves and tactics. Ezra's saber/gun added a fresh dynamic, and Kanan's final move with Inqie's hoop saber was inspired.
Still not crazy about the bouncy character animation. It was distracting seeing the Inquisitor move around so much while interrogating Kanan. A character like him should've had more of a still, reserved body language. It was so distracting that I almost missed the revelations about Kanan's backstory.
I liked Sabine's painted TIE fighter, though. Nice touch.
And I guess Inqie was just the warmup act. Now Vader's the bad guy. And now the Ghost crew is in touch with the larger Rebellion. The pieces are starting to fall into place.
You know, I'd all but convinced myself I was right that Fulcrum would turn out to be Ezra's mother. So I was genuinely a bit surprised when it turned out to be Ahsoka after all. And I'm glad to see her all grown up (though why is her speech pattern so much more stilted now?), but I'm honestly a bit disappointed that it was exactly who everyone expected it to be -- and that it's someone who only has significance to the audience and not to the established characters. Yet at the same time I'm very glad that Ahsoka's story will continue to be developed. Although I don't know if Rebels will explore it as deeply as TCW could have, because she's only a supporting character here, and because the show's storytelling is often kind of cursory. I wish they'd wrapped up the action portion a minute or two earlier so we could've spent more time with Ahsoka and Bail.
