Leonard Nimoy Passes Away

Star Trek came on the air when I was 4 years old. My oldest brother gathered me up and said, "you want to watch this new show with me?" I was entranced from the beginning.

There hasn't really been a time in my memory without Leonard in it, at least not much. I went to the first convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and got to meet and talk to him. What a gracious and delightful man and what a great laugh he had.

It seems odd that he won't be here anymore. Of course, it happens to us all, but I'd hoped for at least another 120 years with him.

Rest well, Mr. Nimoy. You have given such joy to so many for so long.

Remember....like Spock's death in Wrath of Khan, he came back to us. He will come back again on movie screens and in our minds.

"And yet it should be noted, that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world"

New life...a new world... New life in what was a tired franchise. He acted in both of those movies giving it new life... Parallels are amazing.

My initial reaction was captured in a vlog over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIU3pZ-dpII

I had a feeling when I heard he was rushed to the hospital. I even remember thinking, "He's probably going to die," because it's never good when someone his age is rushed to the hospital.

I had a horrible feeling of doom last night. Now I know why.

God bless him. He brought a lot to the world and had the honor of playing one of the most iconic Scifi characters on television.

"I have, and always shall be your friend."

Let me put it this way to sum it up....Mr. Nimoy....
I have been and always shall be, your fan.
:wah:

Very sad news. We are blessed to have had him influence our lives they way he has. As Doctor McCoy said in ST II "He's really not dead... as long as we remember him." Rest in peace my friend.

Having Leonard Nimoy alive is more pleasing than wanting. He will be missed, but I'm grateful for all of the wonderful work he has left behind and that has brought us all together.

His legacy will live long and prosper.

Most of his fans aren't even born yet.

I was at lunch with friends and one got an alert on her phone. I was so sad.

I can remember walking past the TV in my sister's house and hearing on the news that DK had died. I just sank onto the couch. Bones was my favorite, but I dearly loved Spock.

Every interview I saw him give, every piece that I read of his only deepened my appreciation of Nimoy.

Live Long and Prosper!

Rest In Peace, Leonard Nimoy.

You provided entertainment, diversion, and more importantly, hope for the future, to a legion of Star Trek fans, myself among them, for almost 50 years. Thank you!

Bless your heart, and Live Long & Prosper, Mr. Spock.
