Reign - The CW

I hope Greyia stays on. She's the only one of Mary's ladies that I haven't wanted to slap at this point. Plus, as the descendent of a Huguenot, I'd like to have a more personal look at someone who lost a plum spot in a Catholic court to be with a Protestant.

They can't make it work. Their love is on the wrong side of "real" history.

1, Dead. 2, married. 3, The Kings mistress. 4, banished traitor.

Mary's got no girlz.

Is Mary going to get new Ladies in waiting from France or send away to Scotland for her B-Team?

Historically, Mary and Francis only had 18 months together. I wonder how long they'll have on the show.

if Mary does order a new set of ladies, maybe they'll be Protestants and we'll have more scheming with the Huguenots.

Well they have to stretch it out until it gets canned. I am sure the last few EPs of the series will tie up history in a neat bow. ;)

Imagine your lover once tried to kill you and your mother.

I mean sure, after you get married, every Thanksgiving someone gets stuck with a fork, but back before they could pile on the apology sex, they were just some asshole digging your grave with out any quid pro quo.

Bash has done worse. Kenna nursed Claude back to health. She isn't anymore evil than the others at court.

Bash is a hypocrite. He's killed people in the name of love and did that with his own hands, if anything he's worse than Kenna.

Catherine thought she had syphilis! Fun episode. Who could possibly be trying to poison her?

I wonder if Bash was really responsible for what happened to Conde's dead brother. Did Bash find out who was the mysterious lady who supposedly resurrected the "undead" Greek man?

I noticed they played a little bit of Sia's Chandelier at the ball. That was cool.

No one is trying to poison Catherine.

The poison is left over from an attempt on Henry.

His batshittedness which caused him to be murdered.

I actually took a break half way through, to get ice cream, lime if cared, so my mind thought over the facts at hand...

If Henry gave Catherine syphilis, then Kenna should have it, and she gave it to Bash.

But that's moot, because it's poison, and not the clap.

Here's laugh.

Only poor people ate mouldy bread.

But poor people had a hard enough time finding a wife.

I suppose if you spent all your money on prostitutes, that you'd eat mouldy bread, but the prostitutes who had all your money could always afford fresh bread, so it was the Johns who would swing through a never ending cycle of health and syphilis, because the whores (and the idle rich) would be eternally syphilitic.

Last week: Mary felt bad when Conde was accused of poisoning King Henry although it appeared that Lord Giese was the one responsible. It was later revealed that it was Conde's king brother who plotted to kill Henry, and Mary's uncle was just a scapegoat, but all that remained a secret.

Tonight: At her mother's urging, Mary tried to be intimate with Francis again in order to conceive an heir, but she was not ready. Francis came to realize that Mary had feelings for Conde and forbade her to be with him. No sooner did Mary seek Conde's company to return with her to Scotland (and possibly start a new life together) than Conde heard news that Elizabeth wanted him by her side. Whom will he choose? It's obvious he's got the hots for Mary.

I don't find Conde attractive at all, and Francis looks like a 12 year old even though his actor is half way through his 20s. Yes, characters own their actors.

Hmmm?

Mary and Elizabeth should get married.

It would solve all their problems.

I'm also watching Wolf Hall, which is a more serious friendly to history tv series about what Elizabeth's father went through to invent divorce. Henry is a minor character played by that gingernut from Homeland Damien Lewis. If anyone in the 16th was going to make the Church of England recognize gay rights, it'd probably be the head of the Church of England, the fricking Queen (or King.).

So what if they're not gay?

Alligning political powers is more important than the needs of children loving or not loving, being attracted to or not being attracted to almost certainly the rapists they are forced to marry.

I'm still unclear on just when Mary developed feelings for Conde beyond friendship.

Most likely, they'll kill off Francis while she's with Conde and she'll be devastated. She'll realize how much she love Francis and regret the whole thing with Conde (who in history was part of a plot against Francis).
