Men do find her attractive just not every man's fantasy. I wouldn't want to be in Jeri's shoes. I'm a Kate Mulgrew in the looks dept. Probably a tad less because she has amazing skin :-) I'm not on posters on twenty something's wall but I consider myself beautiful. (Took me a long time to admit it to myself because I am no Ms. Ryan.) As for straight women, I used to think we were all closet lesbians and some are, but usually attraction is also stimulated by a desire to embody certain physical and characteristics of the person you 'desire'. And then there's an energy theory. That what people are drawn to is the energy sent out-moths to a flame. In that case that person's beauty is relative to how the receiver perceives it through that connection. I imagine there could be other reasons but none come to mind. I am not sure if I made myself clear there. That's the best I can do.

Kate Mulgrew has a very devoted fanbase full of all kinds of mostly women. Straight, gay, bi and trans. I don't think we can pin down why she attracts such a following because we'll have different reasons, but she does have a definite charisma that is there from seeing her as a young girl on a soap to her late 50's on a stage at a con. I had an immediate crush on her when I saw her on Cheers.

If anyone on the boards has delusions of vidding, feel free to bring back that idea as a new video. hux... why do you consider Janeway a sexless reflection for women. Because many woman are not interested in having sex with her, or because you feel Janeway herself is not a sexual person, or that most women do not see themselves as sexual beings?
