The Flash - Season 1

Was he lying about the peppers?

His healing factor should have reversed any damage done to him?

This is what passes for game?

Pretending that she is stronger than him?

There was absolutely no chemistry between Barry and Linda. Their whole date was so forced.

I gotta rewatch Flashpoint.

Yeah I have to admit I'm not feeling it either. Barry's got much more chemistry with both Iris and Caitlin than the new girl (cute though she is).

I'm not noticing any chemistry problems where Malese Jow is concerned. Heck, on Star-Crossed I thought she had better chemistry with Matt Lanter than his nominal love interest Aimee Teegarden had (as well as being a much better actress).

Meanwhile, Robbie Amell did a surprisingly decent job playing Victor Garber. I'd still have rather seen Garber himself, though.

I have to imagine we'll be seeing more of Garber in future episodes. Hard to imagine them casting someone like that just to appear in a few brief flashback scenes.

I imagine we'll see Garber as sort of a "Harvey" to Amell's Firestorm, someone that only he can see and hear. In the cartoons I've seen, and presumably the comics, Stein shows up as a hovering talking head, but that wouldn't play well in live action.

Garber significant amount of screen time is next week. It was nice to see Isabella Hoffman play his wife. I was a fan of her on Homicide - Life on the Street.

I did find it odd that somebody who can't get drunk would be just as vulnerable to hot 'n' spicy as the rest of us.

ETA: Was Chase the one playing the desperate widow? I had no idea, but I was totally rooting for Joe to get him some!

That's different. Alcohol has little effect on him because he metabolizes it so quickly. But the burn caused by the capsaicin in peppers is more of a neurological phenomenon -- it causes the nerves to react the same way they would to a burn, triggering reactions like throat constriction or inflammation. So that's his own body reacting to the perception that it's being burned. If anything, I'd think his accelerated physiology would worsen the effect rather than negating it. As long as the pepper's in his mouth, his nervous system is going to be reacting to it in hyperdrive.

I had no trouble recognizing her -- she was pretty hard to miss.

By the way, throwaway DC-Universe reference watch: Barry's plans for his second date with Linda included going to a Mal Duncan concert.

It was great seeing Isabelle Hoffman and Chase Masterson again and I like sad weeks ago the other Flash was Barry. But the more that's uncovered about Nora's murder the more it looks like Henry was railroaded, the police did a lousy job of investigating Nora's murder. And Wells is an oddly complex character, still Cait and Sisco should wonder where he got the quantum splitter from.

Too bad Roy Harper isn't a drummer in this Universe. Great Frog could have opened.

Not only obvious, but it's from the cartoon movie that came out a year ago, based on the comics that came out 4 years ago.

The real question is if Wells has already murdered Nora or will yet Murder Nora.

Oh?

If The Man in the Red Suit we have been seeing is out of control with funky powers and he is young Wells, maybe Old Wells wants to save Nora too? Not because he's a nice guy sad about what he did while drunk on Speedforce, but because the paradox used right might be a power source he can tap to fix himself.

Although the blood type did not match.
