Deanna: Have you noticed how your boobs have started to firm up?

For a tiny series based around a large slow but powerful starcraft actually far out in space on an actual frontier with very small pockets of civilisation.
This is basically what the premise was going to be, when they were spit-balling TNG in the beginning: that it would be striving out into unexplored territory on a 20+ year mission away from familiar planets and territories (hence the reason for the 'families aboard the ship' concept). Indeed, it's no coincidence that TNG "Encounter At Farpoint" takes place on the planet Deneb IV: on the Franz Joseph map of Star Trek space, the Deneb system was identified as being the fartherest chartered territory from the UFP. So the idea was very much "the Enterprise begins it's journey on the outskirts of the frontier and then continues to explore forward into unknown territories". This would of course require the conviction to create new alien races, and to not fall back on familiar concepts such as Klingons and Romulans.
That all got dropped pretty quickly in the subsequent episodes. I agree, it may have been an intriguing setup.
IOW, the main cast of Into Darkness...Benedict Cumberbatch as Jean Luc Picard
Zachary Quinto as Data
Karl Urban as Riker
Chris Pine as Q
If you really have to recast, how about Tom Hiddleston as Data?
You forget that starfleet uniforms are very slimming.![]()
