Star Wars Rebels Season One (spoilers)

Not to spoil anyone, but there is a bit of a game changer in this episode, or at least something that might make some think back at a couple of previous episodes.

And also, Kallus presumably found out from Gall Trayvis who Ezra actually is, so if the Empire knows what happened to his parents, they could potentially use that information as leverage against him.

Vision of Hope airs on DisneyXD tonight. Here's what else is coming up:

Call to Action
Monday, February 9 (9:00 PM - 9:30 PM ET/PT)
"As public awareness increases around the Rebels activity, they target an important Imperial network."

Rebel Resolve
Monday, February 23 (9:00 PM - 9:30 PM ET/PT)
"The Rebels attack an Imperial courier hoping to glean information that will help them lead a dangerous rescue attempt."

You may have already read elsewhere, but a high profile character from The Clone Wars is now rumored to be returning:
Hondo Onaka
although we have no idea when... next week or next year?

We've also heard that season 2 of Star Wars Rebels will have nearly "twice as many episodes", according to Freddie Prince Jr. I hope/wonder if they will be strategically staggered throughout the year until The Force Awakens.

HOLY CRAP!

Just caught "Call to Action". By and far the best episode of the show yet, surpassing the finest moments of Clone Wars in all respects. The animation and cinematography were superb, the story was perfect and completely changes the tone of the series. Absolutely brilliant.

Wow, it was good. This show just grew a major set of balls all of a sudden! Moar like Call to Action, please. :D

"Vision of Hope" was alright. I don't understand why anyone on the show or watching it didn't know the Senator was a traitor... given that the fact that HE is the one who led them into the Luminara trap in the first place!

It was particularly nice to see TWO Jedi using lightsabers again.

Although Trayvis himself could have been a victim of misinformation.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious from the start that Trayvis was an Imperial mole. It wasn't plausible that he could defy the Empire so openly without being caught -- and he broadcast on their own channels.

Still, this is a show meant for children. I think children are often smarter than adults give them credit for, but still, some things might not be so obvious for those with less experience.

Well I at least give the writers credit for having Hera catch onto him before his final reveal. And it's not unreasonable to expect them to cling onto the idea that there's this heroic senator out there providing help to the oppressed people, and that their judgment might have been clouded a bit as a result.

Sure - maybe there's some social commentary in there about the privileged and how they weather occupations more favorably compared to the poor. In any case, this is the tip of the iceberg for Travis, I think. I can see him going back to the Rebels; then defecting again back to the Empire before this series is out. I'm sure they didn't go through the trouble to score Brent Spiner's voice to write him out already.

"Going back to the Rebels" implies that he was with them in the first place. The impression I get is that he was a mole from the start, probably tasked by the Emperor with winning the rebels' trust so that he could get to them. That's why he was able to operate so openly.

"Call to Action" is unquestionably the most intense episode to date and perhaps the most intense thing shown on Disney XD in years, IMO. I'd rate it Empire Strikes Back-level good.

Admittedly that is the one named character that is scary without being a Sith Lord. The very nature of the Empire even. A person you don't want coming to your planet if you've messed up.

Agreed. It reminded me of Empire so much without outwardly imitating it. The episode was very much its own thing. There was one thing I'd wish they done though:

Show the comm tower being inhabited by the vaguely innocent worker drones you see on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, that the rebels could simply run past - making Tarkin's decision to destroy it to stop the broadcast all that more galling, although this episode was already pretty dark as it was :P

While i'm not blown away by 'call to action' it is a step up
bringing in a character like Tarkin. Whoever voices him obviously spent a lot of time watching Peter Cushing's work.

Hope to see more of him going forward.

Oh, I'm pretty sure Tarkin will get a chance to be more of a ruthless bastard as it looks like he's just getting started.
