Kinder eggs!

I always had kinder eggs when i was little. I loved putting the little toys together and never ate the toy parts.

A web search doesn't really give much or I couldn't find a link to a repudable news site. The only figure I could find was 7 deaths in 20 years. And I suspect in those 20 years hundreds of thousands if not millions have been sold. And whilst every death is a tradegy the death rate is stastically irrelevant if those figure are correct.

My children were more interested in the toy than the chocolate. Sometimes they would talk me into buying one because they knew I loved chocolate and would do the eating and that they would get the toy.

So... about Kinder Eggs. I loved the Happy Hippos. Anybody remember the Star Wars edition?

The confection also runs afoul of a law requiring all toys that accompany candies to be safe for children of all ages (the toys contained in the eggs are labeled as being safe for ages 3 and up).

Hmmm I wonder if its to do with kinder eggs being some serious competition to other chocolate companies.
Like Cadbury is such a threat to Hershey that Hershey is trying to get Cadbury banned from being sold in the US! No toys in Cadbury chocolate.

Like any other toy it states on the egg not to give it to an under 3 year old.
Every tiny toy ever sold is a choking hazard.
And what about adults that dont have kids who like to collect the kinder toys? Is it a choking hazard to them?

Just had a thought. What about the big easter eggs? A lot bigger than a kinder egg i know but they usually have something inside them, like a small packet of candy or in some cases a toy.
Are they banned in the US as well?

Hmmm, I wonder if there is any credible proof of this whatsoever. Just a thought.
 
I suspect the real reason does have something to do with Hersheys. They have a license to produce some Cadbury products here like Rolos and Caramello, but use a different chocolate recipe.

I've not seen toys inside chocolate Easter bunnies over here, though I have seen hollow ones that might have been designed for that. I don't buy them every year though, since no kids.

Little known fact - Kinder eggs, actually invented by Hitler. Or worse than Hitler? I can never tell.

When I first mentioned to a German that "Kinder" is an Italian brand he seemed to be close to tears.

I'm mean like that. I also threatened him with an imaginary pointy stick when he pronounced "Benetton" like it's an English word instead of a Venetian name.
