I know TREK_GOD_1 mentioned this way back at the beginning of this long running thread, but the other day I just watched Susan Oliver (Vina) in the Night Gallery episode "The Tune in Dan's Cafe" from 1972.

Holy cow, is it me or did she age *a lot* in 7-8 years? Or maybe it's not a good picture?

^ Her hair is different of course, but other than that it just looks like normal aging.

Especially since Vina's appearance in "The Cage" was probably under a fair amount of makeup anyway, since Vina was being presented by the Talosians as an ideal - a 'perfect' woman for Pike to fall for.

Not to mention the lighting in this image is darker and more direct, creating heavier shadows. That affects the perception of age, that's why commercials for anti-aging products use it. Harsher lighting makes you look older.

I watched the 1947 film "Kiss of Death" and saw a very young Harry Landers (i.e. Dr. Coleman from 'Turnabout Intruder') who portrayed a convict relaying a message from Victor Mature.

Here's a good one. I was watching The Ghost Breakers, an old 1940 comedy with Bob Hope, when Paul Fix (aka "Dr. Mark Piper" from the second pilot) pops up as gangster named Frenchy Duvall.

I confess: I didn't recognize him at all. I only realized it was Fix when the closing credits came up.

Captain Ansel Coffin from The Wild Wild West's early episode ("The Night of a Thousand Eyes" - not to be confused with a Bobby Vee song) will get Captain Kirk his zeenite his way.

The Garson brothers from a Banacek episode whose name I forget: Roland wants you to at least watch how men die, while Oliver proudly lets you know there's an Alice series, a Maizie series, an Annabelle series...

But damn it, I can't remember what it was. It was just the other day too. It was post-1960s though.

As part of my previous career as a movie theatre manager. I've had to watch some extraordinary bad movies. This past weekend I added a new one to my top five.
TCM aired an old tv movie from 1972 back during Halloween. I just finally got around to watching it. I had recorded it because it starred DeForest Kelley. It's called "Night of the Lepus" and Kelley starred as a college president. This movie can be described with three words. Giant Killer Rabbits. Horrible movie. I want that hour and 45 minutes of my life back.

Night of the Lepus also starred Enterprise doctor #2 Paul Fix (too bad John Hoyt wasn't in it as well).

Meg Wyllie got around a lot in supporting roles (including The Last Starfighter). She wasn't all that old when she played the Keeper (47 years).

I once asked DeForest Kelley about working with Paul Fix on "Night of the Lepus". De remembered making the film, and working with Paul, but had no memory of whether they ever talked about doing Star Trek, and De essentially taking Paul's job.

Unfortunately, NOTL was not a made for TV movie, but a full fledged MGM theatrical release. And this was during the period of time that Herb Solow was the head of production there! That would possibly be how De Kelley got the job.

The same goes for the infamous Pretty Maids All in a Row - produced and screenplay by a certain guy named Roddenberry, and a fairly substantial supporting role for Jimmy Doohan. (also Bill Campbell!) All I can say about Maids, is that I sure hope Majel made a point of being around for the casting sessions! Almost every female 'high school student' was a Playboy centerfold/model of some kind - in costumes designed by, yes, Bill Theiss! One way or another, you will watch this with your mouth wide open!

I have had a cold, and been off for the holidays as it is, so for the heck of it, I went on IMDB, and checked the credits out for the first couple of seasons of UNCLE, and found that in TMFO's first season, except for a couple of episodes, almost every Man from UNCLE show had either an a) Trek director and or b) Future Trek guest star or regular! And quite a bit of the time both!

The directors we know - and between the three of them, they directed almost all the first season shows - were Hershel Dougherty, of Tomorrow is Yesterday Trek fame, Corbomite Maneuver director Joe Sargent, and Marc Daniels, who did about 8 UNCLE shows, including one with Jimmy Doohan - remember this was 1964. Sargent was in all likelihood THE Man From UNCLE director, doing more of those than any other director. It was Sargent who directed the famous/infamous "Project Strigas Affair" episode, where Shatner and Nimoy appeared together first. (not to mention Werner 'Colonel Klink' Klemperer)

One of the 'high school students' was Joanna Cameron, a few years before she was cast as Isis on Saturday morning. Another fine Filmation production!
