Die Hard, did you watch it?

You know as well as I do that this is the mother of all Christmas movies. It's about a man who sacrifices everything in order to be together with his family for the holidays. The movie is filled with Christmas symbolism, music, and imagery.

Christmas isn't over until I've watched it. So, how about you?

Did you watch Die Hard?

I watched "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation" on Christmas Eve and then watched "A Christmas Story" today.

Sorry. Though I did consider watching it.

Quotes off the top of my head:

  • "'Now I have a machine gun. Ho-Ho-Ho.'"
  • "Oh my God! The quarterback is toast!"

Other notable mentions for Bond fans:

Robert Davi and Grand L. Bush (aka Johnson and Johnson) both were in the James Bond film "License to Kill." And, Andreas Wisniewski - I had to look it up to spell his name correctly - portrayed 'Necros' in "The Living Daylights."

Miscellaneous:

  • This film made me a fan of Stevie Wonder's "Skeletons."
  • The actor Wilhelm von Homburg - I remembered the face, not the name - was 'Vigo' in "Ghostbusters II" and had a bit part as a braindead ex-boxer in the James Woods film "Diggstown."

(Of course, by now, much of this is probably known to us cinema fans...)

Haven't watched it recently, but saw it in the summer of 1988 during its original theatrical release. A really fun action movie.

Yep, watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with my nephews yesterday mornin' & Die Hard with my sister yesterday afternoon.

I haven't watched Die Hard in a good long while, but I do remember when it came out in theaters, I saw it twelve times....six of those in just one week. (I was in the Army at the time).

Why yes, yes I did. Last week though. I'm watching Die Hard 2 this weekend. Had the Blu-ray Quadrilogy sitting in my collection unwatched for over a year, so I'm finally getting around to it.

"Welcome to the party, pal!"

I feel wrong for not watching it this year for Christmas but I did last year. I did watch A Christmas Story, the cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and of course, Bad Santa (a few days before Christmas though).

It's been ages since I've seen any Die Hard movie (and as for the last one, never), but I think my favorite is the third one...

"Are you AIMING for these people?"
"No...Well, maybe that mime."

I actually think Lethal Weapon is more of a Christmas movie.
In any event, this year I decided to watch "the Ref" as my traditional Christmas eve movie.

Hart Bochner who plays the douchebag Ellis, was Supergirl's boyfriend in the 1984 movie.
