Roberto Orci Not Directing Trek XIII

...

I don't want to push any buttons... ;-)

HOPEFULLY, I won't be baited here, like i was over there... =P

...

...

you BR defenders are putting whatever crazy spin you can on it =P

...
it really does suck IMHO, and i'll bet there are A LOT of REAL Star Trek fans who agree =P

a pre- and/or non- nu-trek fan IMHO ;-)

yeah, no... i don't want to offend... but nu-trek is "trek for dummies" IMHO

...

...
(forgive me mods, please??) =) (i'll try harder) maybe the ... ... is off-putting (?) ;-)

Opinions noted... BUT I prefer reading one-liners; to bloated, quoting, paragraphs...

...and egotistical "signatures" ;-) Why not keep i clean? I'll bet others would agree ;-)

For someone who said he didn't want to push any buttons, you sure are pushing an awful lot of buttons. I'd say now would be a wonderful time to start trying harder.

Settle down, take some time to familiarize yourself with the rules and FAQ, learn how things are done here, learn how to use Multi-Quote... things like that.

Oh... and stop baiting other posters.

This is the kind of stuff I pulled back in the day on rec.arts.startrek to bait posters while posing as a stereotypical "noob." I would sincerely doubt the sincerity of someone so obviously trying to stir up the pot. Whoever this is, is quite well acquainted with the forum and the rules...

Please let me add my two cents

libel? ...good thing it's just my opinion on a fan-site... ;-)

Hi, I amnot Herbert

HIjol here with a friendly word or 12 of advice to you, before it is too late to offer you any.

The way it works here is that we pick topics or respond to topics that interest us or that we are adept/expert in. We have writers and TV people and lifelong collectors and newbies and oldbies and everything in between. We bounce ideas off of each other and share our loves and likes and dislikes with each other. When we state facts, we support them with evidence.

May I suggest to you that you spend some time choosing threads and reading along with the posts without posting, just for a little while, so you get a feel for how it goes. I have made my share of mistakes here, so I know what I am talking about! :)

Oh, and I can guarantee that you will be hearing about your use of ellipses, and I mean that in a nice, humerous way. Please take my suggestions. This is a wonderful board to be associated with, and you will learn so much and share what you know and feel.

Enjoy!

Ya, they aren't backing a fan film, or a character that no one in the general public cares about.

If I was a studio exec, there's no way in hell I'd back Axanar, and I say that as someone who really likes that fan film.

such friendly, helpful people here! =D thank you!

thank you for the advice... not sure what you mean by ellipses? ()? but, as u say, guess i'll find out... ;-)

Look at the top of the page you are on right now.

See right under the thread title?

There are links like "User CP" and "Calender" and, wait for it "FAQ"

In addition, you will find the "Edit" button underneath your recent post will allow you to add more to your post instead of posting over and over and being given infractions for spamming.

Thanks! =)

hmmmm... i guess i'll try editing my posts? when I read though, i don't go back wards... won't the editing just be "buried?"

seems a little subjective, if not draconian to me... =(

Unless you're taking hours to make an edit, I don't think it will be buried. Anyway, that is the standard practice for any message forum I've ever been a member of or Moderated.

Well the community appreciates when posters don't take up entire pages with one line posts or individual quote/responses.

Each of us voluntarily chose to join a community with rules and standards, so complaining about those rules and standards is rather silly.

what's the big deal with a single line post??

i've seen SINGLE WORD replies with a TON OF QUOTATION attached... that's ok?

IMHO, all of the quotation and extraneous verbiage is spamming... =(

not to mention: complaints about FORMATTING?!? jeez... =(

Seeing as this is a thread with a specific purpose, I amnot Herbert, you may wish to discuss any comments you have about the overall website in the "Questions, Suggestions, & Feedback" forum.

It's not so much the length, but the substance. You haven't participated in any meaningful discussion since you've been here. I think that's the problem pal.

how do I "take up entire pages" with single line posts? ridiculous!

new idea / new post is how i work...

I am CERTAINLY NOT trying to burn your eyes with a series of short back to back posts!
