No Borg, thanks. Maybe in a few films' time. I'd prefer something a bit more low-key now. Maybe the Ent crew get caught up in dangerous political intrigue on an alien planet....

Like that's gonna happen :wtf:

I doubt too many people care about such a scenario on a big screen, tent pole film.

It would depend how it was done. Obviously Insurrection stands as an example of how not to do it. But how about:

Our heroes get stranded on a planet (e.g. Cardassia), and are hunted through the wilderness like animals. They are finally taken in by a political underground, but then it turns out the organisation is riddled with spies (comedy scene of spies competing to turn each other in). The Enterprise crew end up in a show trial above a vast arena. After being found guilty, they are knock down into the arena, which is full of all sorts of hungry alien beasts....

I'd rather have the Borg.

Oh, I see. So not The West Wing or Madam Secretary in space then?

Well, the market needs a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down. I'm certainly not proposing The West Wing in space. That would be even worse than the West Wing. Besides, we already had BSG :p
I had in mind something more like a John Le Carre novel.

Save the Borg for the last movie of the 5 year mission - would make a good story line for a new movie with an all new cast (next generation of sorts)

hey if Frakes is brought in even more reason to do the Borg!
Khan, I said something to you before about bumping up old, inactive threads on a thin pretext. Please don't do it unless there's something of substance to be added.

Closing.
