NFL 2014-2015 Season Discussion

That was bizarre. The Jets started Smith, and then tried to hide him the whole game.

:shrug:

I said before the season started that I was more worried about the Steelers D that the O. Something I'm not used to worrying about. Ben and company are really on a roll... that Baltimore front 7 is no joke and Ben still threw for 6 more TD's...

The Steelers' remaining schedule...

@New York
@ Tennessee - W
vs New Orleans - L
@ Cincinnati - ????
@ Atlanta - ????
vs Kansas City - ????
vs Cincinnati - ????

That's runnable. Especially with how Cinci is playing and getting NO at home.

Here's hoping we don't play down to the competition this weekend.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: That's runnable.... :lol::lol::lol::lol:

God how frustrating it is to watch my Steelers this year...

I listened to the game on Sirus while driving this weekend. The (NO's announcers) ... they gave more respect to the Steelers than I would have.

I literally have NO IDEA what team is going to come out of the
tunnel.... Now "The Beard" is out for the year...

It was a very ugly win, but I will take it... Go Phins!

Well, it's about time you guys win a close game!

You could have had GB, Detroit, and Denver.

I think Miami is a pretty good team, and going forward will get better.

:scream::scream::scream:

Don't remind me. Take away three drives (The last drive in the GB and Detroit games, and the Broncos quick score right before halftime in Denver) and the Dolphins are 10-2 with a tiebreaker advantage over NE. Sigh. You could even break those drives down and take away 3 plays... and the Phins would be 10-2! Sigh again.

The problem is, the truly good teams find a way to win those tight contests more often than not, and Miami is not quite there yet.

I honestly feel bad for him. You can see it all in his face; Trestman knows he's about to have things very difficult soon.

^ He could probably go right back to Canada. Canada's a nice place.

Back to the CFL? I'm not entirely sure about that. I said when Trestman was hired that I was concerned about personality issues (from the way he bounced around with so many teams in the NFL before fucking off to Canada to get paid next to nothing), and that I questioned whether his success in Canada was due to him being a great coach, or due to having the best quarterback to never play in the NFL on his roster. This year has pretty conclusively shown it's the latter, and the undisciplined way the Bears have behaved during his tenure (like Briggs skipping practice to attend the opening of his restaurant, and Houston's dumbass injury) suggests that he can't handle a locker room.

Some CFL team might take a flyer on him, I guess, but the wheels have fallen off the "Marc Trestman, quarterback whisperer and offensive genius" train, considering the Bears' offense falls apart the minute their screen passes don't work.

I think the comparison I made at the time was that I was praying for Marv Levy but terrified of getting Rod Rust.

How about my Rams pitching back-to-back shutouts!?!

:techman:

Against bad teams, sure. But still very nice.

The Redskins really have some problems.

My Steelers score 21 unanswered in Cini for the win over coming horrible clock/timeout management at the end of the 1st half....

The Rams just have the misfortune of playing in a stacked division.

I believe the Rams have the toughest schedule in the NFL this year.

No, that would be the Raiders. Although you and reality are not frequent neighbors, so I understand the mistake. :lol:

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that the Bears are planning to fire Mel Tucker after the season, barring significant improvement in the final three weeks of the year.

Just our luck, they'll "show significant improvement" over the last few games.

There was a yahoo.com story saying they should fire everyone and start over, and I think that's a good idea.

It'll never happen of course, unless people stop buying tickets and merchandise in large numbers.

Ah December, that glorious time of year when the brief, transient hopes of Dolphins fans are crashed against the rocks of consistent mediocrity and incompetence.
