Seven/Chakotay Relationship

This relationship seems more real than any of that C/J fan fic. Chakotay is a nice looking man and Seven is a hot blonde so naturally he would have gone for her. Janeway is just plain and an older woman. She isn't ugly, but she aint no Seven either. If I had a choice between an older Janeway or a younger hotter Seven I would have picked Seven.
More like 140, 150.
I really think Seven should have ended up with The Doctor.

It's been mentioned that Trek handles relationships poorly but those two had a great realtionship going--supportive at times, prickly at others, with an undercurrent of genuine understanding.
Chakotay is more of a hunk. I think a lot of dweeby guys would prefer a pairing with a somewhat dweeby guy. Most women would prefer she be pared with a hunk. Makes sense--both geneders tend to be pretty superficial, men are just more upfront about it. 
The pairing I really wanted was Seven/B'Elanna.

Chakotay is more of a kindly nature spirit and a father-figure while Seven is ex-Borg with unstable bursts and she's also naive. They didn't have much in common and he was older than her. It would've been interesting if she were the Doctor's mate as he's a tender hologram but ideally she was probbaly better off not being with any of the men from the ship. She could've met her future mate when they got back to earth and it would've been a guy of her age bracket with a fierce personality. Chakotay should've ended up with Janeway as she's of his age group.
The older you get the more broad your range becomes. I mean although a 40 year old dating a 20 year seems off, a 30 year old and a 50 year old seems as fine to me as a 40 year old and a 70 year old... How ever a 20 year old will look down on a 17 year old as he or she were a child.

Yes. But what I'm really saying is that younger we are the more Judgemental we are.
Besides, 50 isn't what it used to be. In 300 years it's going to be far less than it is now....
O. A living, although not too sprite McCoy was 150ish in the TNG Pilot. He probably would have been 120ish when Chakotay was born. is it safe to assume that after 120 years worth of medical advances since the birth of McCoy, that Baby Chakotay's life expectancy is considerably extended compared to baby McCoy a Hundred and 20 years earlier?
Which bring me back to my previous "guess" that humans live to be about 200 in the TNG/Voy era, since if he was looked after, maybe even McCoy could have held out for another quarter century or more.

Well actually you're right that a 30 year old can be with a 40 year old and 50 year old. It wouldn't be right for a 18 year old dating a 40 year old! A woman of 27 can date a man of 40. A 33 year old woman can date a man of 50 plus.

Are you aware that a great majority of men think that way? That is also why Seven choose him out of everybody on the ship to be her mate. It was due to his rank and physical appearance. She chose her mate by Borg standards, he picked his by appearance. She had that conversation about it in a ep. when she was talking about the subject with the Doctor. Tom had mentioned to Harry, that every man on the ship was attracted to Seven because of her looks, the only thing that kept them away was her personality.PKTrekGirl said:

First attraction for everybody is always looks. Would you talk to a guy that dressed bad, didn't wash or brush his teeth? No, you're going to talk to the one that is well groomed and handsome. Then, you're going to get to know them better starting from there.

Possibly when guys in young-middle aged years between 40 and 50 make better boyfriends? By that age men are still really young and hot but more understanding and tougher and wise. They appear like father figures to younger women. I have a friend who is 33 and her boyfriend is 47.
