And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Resurrection's ratings have been in free fall and presently hovering around 1.4. By the end of season 2, it will only have 21 episodes. If the ratings continue to erode, it wouldn't be surprising to see it be canceled.

Resurrection had a good premise, but they didn't and still don't know what to do with it. Bringing in the bland Donna Murphy as a villain to counterbalance the overacting of Omar Epps and making Michelle Fairley evil for the sake of evil are just some of the bad moves they had made. It's like Lost minus everything that made Lost special. The plot is just too slow and too stupid.

I'm excited about Forever getting a full season order, but they, like Resurrection, need to make good use of the parameters they have established.

‘Forever’ Gets Full-Season Order From ABC

New dramas’ hot streak this fall continues with another full-season order, this time to ABC’s Forever. The network has picked up nine additional episodes of the supernatural crime procedural for a 22-episode freshman season. Forever joins fellow ABC newbies How To Get Away With Murder and Black-ish with its full-season order. New ABC comedy Selfie and Manhattan Love Story have been cancelled.

I read that Forever is continuing despite the numbers because some at the networks are realizing that, except for some higher-rated shows, the majority of shows will have lower ratings. So it's either keep some of them or start all over with more likely lower-rated shows.

B'bye Selfie. John Cho, we want to see you on Sleepy Hollow again! Or anything!

Resurrection was great right until last week when the town is now hating of the Returned. This week looks just as bad.

The final season was odd.

It was leaking actors.

Which made it look shoddy and weak.

The audience must have noticed?

Persons of Interest dropped to a series low 1.3 :( I don't get it, I really don't.

No idea here either.

The only explanations I guess offhand, sound very much like #FanExcuseBingo. (Such as the three-episode Chicago Fire/PD + Law & Order SVU crossover event, etc ...).

Oh.

What if it's a race thing?

Did they lose their black audience after they killed off their black character?

Ditto for strong female character, not that she is the only strong female character, but she was the woman in he beginning that the audience probably imprinted on and became distraught when their... No ####ing idea.

Jessica Hetch should have been in Friends more, and should have been in Breaking Bad more.

Harold has Machiavellian plans for her, and she has dirty, naughty plans for him.

I think that as Person of Interest has gotten more serialized that's when the ratings slide started (along with the 10 pm move). The average CBS viewer seems to not like shows that are serialized in nature. They'd rather watch shows that are more standalone.

Elementary dropped to 1.0 in the demo so even if CBS owns the show a 4th season might be a very hard sale for them. The late start + weak in lead in has killed the 3rd season and made it very likely it will be cancelled. Its like anything I watch gets shit on these days

Really? I had heard it was always on the bubble compared to other CBS shows.

From what I can remember plus find...

Viewership for POI grew steadily over its first season, ranging from 11.57 ("Mission Creep") to 15.67 ("Baby Blue") million viewers, with an average live audience of 13.30 million viewers, and an average Live + 7 Day audience of 16.28 million, growing 18% from its live broadcast. Critically, Person of Interest retained 94% of its premiere audience for week two, and 87% for week three, quickly indicating CBS had a hit on its hands.

Season 2 was very similar too and I think the demo spent most of it's time in the 2.5-2.9 range with some 3.0+ hits in season 1 rather than 2.

^I did not see that cancellation for The Millers coming - isn't it pretty odd for a second season network show to get cancelled in November?
