1st Time - These Are The Voyages (S4, EP22)

Alright, I finally finished the whole series episodes to Star Trek: Enterprise. For the most part I enjoyed every episode except for three of them:

1) In A Mirror, Darkly - S4 Ep.18 & Ep.19
2) These Are The Voyages

Out of the three I disliked S4, EP22 (These Are the Voyages) the most (minor spoiler to come):

I remember seeing this episode advertised, but never watched it as I hadn't seen any other episode. However, I did get excited when hearing that Jonathan Frakes & Marina Sirtis would make an appearance.

However, after watching it, it felt more like a lost episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, then a satisfying ending to a series that had promise.

I mean the whole story takes place on a holodeck with Riker trying to prepare himself for some speech he is to give.

Plus, what was up with Riker playing the Chef in the holodeck and Troi claiming that the crew confided in the chef. I mean you never even see the chef or the crew interacting with him.

In fact, I felt that Dr. Phlox played the role of a version of Guinan more then this chef we never saw. He didn't help a lot, but he seemed to be the person some of the crew would confide in.

I also felt Trips death unneeded and executed very poorly. Because I knew it was a holodeck simulation it felt as if it had no meaning. It felt forced.

Overall, I felt it was a clash of poor writing and planning that made this series finale complete and utter $h!t.

Club...no...agreement perhaps. After all it's bad when one of the actors (Jolene Blalock) even claim it was a bad episode to the series and franchise.

Yeah, it's pretty bad (though there are a couple I dislike more). I wonder if a radical edit could turn it into a totally different, and better, episode? Might be quite short though.

TATV is a putrid blighted bloated turd on the fine tapestry that ENT eventually became.
That's a definitive definition of the "Valentine to the fans".

B&B threw a big flaming pile of Porthos poo at viewers' doorsteps.

^Editing a pile of shit just makes it a shorter pile of shit.

If they cut out all the portly TNG scenes and left it with a bunch of future dribble and meaningless death it would have been a LOT shorter. And still very shitty. But it would have been over much sooner.

Well, after we cut out Trip's meaningless death and Shran being a putz, there must be some usable shots of people walking down corridors....

If the show comes up short on running time after the deletions, just shoot a few scenes of Porthos taking a leak on the script.

Yes, the episode would have to be pared down to opening credits followed by the "boldly go" speech at the end...roll end credits.

I'm enjoying this round of "I Hate TATV !!1!11!!" You guys have me

Keep up with the funny, I really need it right now.
